You may have seen this gorilla in various other Blueprint creations such as King Kong Cash, and he always manages to keep the theme fun and fresh with a change of setting every now and then. We saw King Kong Cash DJ Prime8 break the mould back in 2024, and now we watch him jet off on holiday to the Florida coast.
The regular symbols will battle it out to bring you prizes worth up to 5x, and it goes without saying that the golden Kong symbols are the most valuable. The wild symbols will substitute for all the regular symbols and you can improve your payouts by entering the collect feature.
Collect symbols are active on the first and sixth reels, and anytime the cash prize lands at the same time as one of the collector symbols, you grab the win.
The biker symbol landing along with a collect symbol will bring Motor Kong to the reels before landing you a cash prize worth between 5x and 2,500x your base bet!
Collecting your cash prizes during the base game can unlock new features as you go and these will improve your chances of landing prizes thanks to the slightly more modified version of the collect symbols that land. You can have reels converted into full reels of prizes, additional cash symbols added to the grid and respins.
Cash prizes that aren't collected are added to the safe and can randomly trigger a chance to grab extra bonus symbols, extra cash prizes, and watch the reels convert into a guaranteed win.
3 or more bonus scatter symbols will trigger the most wanted spins and this lets you play for free 10 times. During the bonus, any of your unlocked features will remain active, and you'll continue collecting your cash symbols as you did before.
You can pick up extra spins and bigger multipliers as you play, and if you have the master plan upgrade unlocked, bonus symbols that don't trigger the bonus game will move you along the master plan trail. You reach different checkpoints to get a random upgrade for next time you trigger the bonus.
Blueprint Gaming is a big fan of this collect feature upgrade system and we've seen it work well in many other slots. You start with a standard collect, and then you can move on to drive-by, heist, hitman and stealth. Each of these modifies the collect symbol to make it more powerful and potentially more valuable.
You only need 3 bonus scatter symbols to trigger 10 free spins and you get to feel the benefit of taking your activated collect modifiers along with you. Accumulating extra scatter symbols while you play will award additional spins and you also get a multiplier for wins that land below 20x your bet.
There are loads of ways to win a prize in this game, with uncollected cash potentially opening the safe and collected cash hitting your balance instantly. One of my favourites is the drive-by collect that fires at the reels and shoots extra rewards all over the grid. The results can be pretty stunning at any moment, and if you make it all the way, you'll end up with a 17,000x max win.
This game is 80s-tastic, and you've only got to hear the first few bars of the soundtrack to know that you're in for a real treat. The designers have nailed it in terms of backdrop, but you need to use your imagination a little to see how the various animal symbols fit into this game. Cash pot prizes sit above the reels, the locked features are over to the left, and you'll see Kong make it rain every so often! It looks incredible on mobile phones as well, and the animations are slick.
There is so much going on in Kong Miami City that it might take you a little while to get your head around all of the features and modifiers. My best advice is to have a basic idea of how this all works, and then let it all wash over you as the cash prizes come home. Thanks to the medium volatility, my balance was kept happy while spinning these reels – even though I didn't hit a massive prize, I can easily see the potential in this game.
