Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx
Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx is a 5-reel, 35 payline slot (that can expand to 50 paylines) developed by Stormcraft Studios. With a very strong, well-designed main character, Rolling Reels, Multiplier Trails, Second Chance Respins, Free Spins and a Win Booster it's genuinely quite an impressive game, it baffles us a little bit that there hasn't been another game in the Jungle Jim series since, as this one hits all the right buttons!
Design
Jungle Jim is Stormcraft Studio's answer to Rich Wilde, John Hunter or Gonzo! This charming 3D explorer makes frequent appearances in this Egyptian-themed slot, and whenever players trigger a big winning spin the man himself Jungle Jim himself will turn up on screen and do something entertaining! We mean it when we say he's genuinely one of our favourite slot mascots yet, even if he is one of the least recognisable.
Looking at the actual game itself, Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx isn't at all terrible when it comes to design. The reels are set upon an ancient temple dimly lit by starlight in the middle of the Egyptian desert. Low paying symbols are blue gemstone, green gemstone, orange gemstone and red gemstone. High paying symbols are an Egyptian vase, a chest, a book and Jungle Jim himself.
In terms of the soundtrack, this game offers exactly what you'd expect!
Gameplay
This slot is pretty unintrusive. The main thing players need to be aware of is the Multiplier Trail. This slot starts out as a 5x4, 35 payline slot, however, when players land their third consecutive roll a new row is unlocked, increasing the number of paylines. If players don't win on this third roll then they'll automatically receive a free respin.
In terms of navigating the slot in general, all of the game's buttons are placed down the right-hand side of the screen in the style of a watch. The central button is the spin button whilst those around it allow you to change your stake and set up to 100 automated spins.
Win Potential
This medium volatility slot has an RTP of 96.30% which is decent! The maximum win players can pick up is 6250x their stake, which again is pretty good!
Our Verdict
We really appreciate the time and effort that's gone into creating Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx, the graphics are good and the main character is memorable! The game has some good bonus features and mechanics and gets a thumbs up from us. It's not exactly groundbreaking, but it certainly did a good job of keeping us thoroughly entertained!
