Hillbilly Vegas Review
It's not every day that you can lay claim to seeing a full casino experience in a hillbillies' back garden, but that's the case in Reflex Gaming's Hillbilly Vegas. Skeeter and his friends (mainly his pig and dog) decided that Vegas was too expensive and that hillbillies should have their own bespoke casino.
Released by Reflex Gaming but through Yggdrasil, Hillbilly Vegas focuses on 5-reels with 10 paylines as well as features such as bonus wheels, Skeeter's slots, moonshine money and nice dice leading to wins of up to 10,000x the stake. Now, that is certain to make any hillbilly happy!
Design
As the slot opens up, players will hear a banjo score played in the background that sounds like something from Harvest Moon. This pairs well with the noises of hillbillies throughout the slot.
In terms of the visuals, there are funny call-backs with 'Slots Roulette' at a barn in the distance. Next to the reel, there is a Skeeter (the main hillbilly) who dances and reacts throughout spins. To the right of the reels, is Billy Bob (the dog) who is sadly not animated which feels odd next to Skeeter.
As for all the symbols on the reels, there are different bottle caps as well as the main characters in Skeeter, Billy Bob and Darlene (the pig). It is a little bit tacky but comes together quite well.
Gameplay
Everything in this slot builds up to the bottle caps landing on the reels and there are different bottle caps improving the chances of certain features. For example, more free spin bottle caps will increase the chances of landing the free spins during the bonus wheel with more free spin options to choose from.
Ultimately, players can trigger multiple different bonus rounds with the bonus wheel which is an incredible feat. From dice games to 3-reel slots, there are multiple different bonus games available.
At the bottom of the screen, players will find the spin button followed by the bet level button. The far left of the screen contains the sound settings and paytable information in case players are needing additional assistance.
Win Potential
Hillbilly Vegas is surprising in terms of the win potential. On the one hand, the RTP is 95.50% which is certainly under what we'd expect from an online slot. However, this is matched with a decent maximum win of 10,000x stake that'll leave you smiling.
This high volatility slot does have a low RTP, but the maximum win evens it out to make the slot on average for the win potential. This will delight casual players looking for some satisfying wins throughout.
Our Verdict
This is actually a thoroughly entertaining slot that manages to deliver all the features and overall gameplay. Whilst the design is nothing spectacular and does feel tacky at times, it fits in well with the overall theme.
Hillbilly Vegas is a charming hillbilly slot with wonderful gameplay that will deliver an entertaining experience to players. If you like the sound of this, then do not hesitate to give the game a spin for a hoot of a time.
