Bagging yourself a win in this game requires 3 matching symbols to land on the first row. This awards a payout and also triggers the Supermatch mechanic. A new row is unlocked and your win continues to grow if further matching symbols land on the additional rows and even more rows are revealed as this happens. This isn't my first Supermatch rodeo and back in May of this year, I came across Rome Supermatch. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the game back then but I'm pleased to say that things have come a long way in the last 6 months.
Grim Reaper Supermatch is a completely different kettle of fish when compared to the previous outing just mentioned. The graphics are slicker and the theme works perfectly with this kind of mechanic. It is a little Tim Burton-esque and the soundtrack might sound quite familiar, although I'm sure it is an original!
I love that the developer allowed for all of the modifiers to be present throughout the base game and they even chose to mix things up a little with different coloured souls being collected in the Free Spins Bonus. They really thought about this one and it all fits together very nicely. It is strange, however, that the max win can only really occur during the base game—but I’m not averse to mixing things up a little!
The max win isn't huge at just 5,000x but keeping things fairly modest is probably how the developer can offer big wins during the base game—30 of the top symbols can get you a massive 2,000x payout. The volatility is medium, which was a pleasant surprise, and the RTP is 96.15%.
Things have clearly progressed for this developer since the Supermatch idea was first conceived and Grim Reaper Supermatch definitely pushes things to the next level. It is full of interesting and potentially valuable modifiers, and allowing for staggering wins during the base game only helps to keep things more interesting. It definitely gets my seal of approval!
