Gladiator Legends Review
Hacksaw Gaming has definitely decided to go in a darker direction for their online slots with hits such as The Bowery Boys, Wanted Dead or a Wild and Warrior Ways.
Gladiator Legends looks to be the most gruesome and toughest one yet with the slot being set in an actual Colosseum with fighters facing off against each other.
Throughout this slot, players spin the 5-reels in hopes of landing a win on one of the 10 paylines. Ultimately, there are two types of spins and VS symbols to help players secure a victory.
Design
Gladiator Legends is perhaps one of the darkest slots out there with a grainy tint on the slot. In the distance, there are burning dead bodies and various weapons discarded.
On the reels, there are various weapons covered in blood as well as warriors drenched in blood. During the VS moments, there are animations of warriors fighting with some getting decapitated at times.
The music starts off with violins and a full orchestral score building up the atmosphere but this changes through the bonus modes. Interestingly, in the bonus modes, there is just a beat throughout followed by ambient noises such as cheers and the fighters' nervous breathes. Honestly, the entire audio for this slot makes the game even darker.
Gameplay
For those who have played Warrior Ways, the gameplay for this slot will seem familiar with the VS symbols. However, the rest of the slot is different from the two types of free spins.
Like most Hacksaw Gaming slots, the bar at the bottom of the screen highlights everything you'll need to know with the spin button, bet level and sound adjustments.
Win Potential
Thankfully, the win potential matches the epic gameplay in this slot with an RTP at 96.31%. Alongside this, there is a high volatility level leading to larger wins, but less frequently.
Ultimately, the maximum win is quite common for Hacksaw Gaming at 10,000x your stake - but this is still a decent amount that can be achieved through the multipliers.
Our Verdict
The gameplay and overall tone of this slot feels similar to a Nolimit City slot but without too many complicated features. This is definitely a darker tone for Hacksaw Gaming and it feels quite refreshing to see.
Since Wanted Dead or a Wild, Hacksaw Gaming has continued to shine as a slot developer and Gladiator Legends is a prime example of that. As long as you don't mind a bit of gore, be sure to give Gladiator Legends a spin.
