Desperate Dawgs 2 Gigablox Review
There's no denying that the original Desperate Dawgs failed to excite audiences and didn't really deliver anything new to players. Evidently, Reflex Gaming took all the criticisms of the chin and decided to make a sequel that's even better with Desperate Dawgs 2.
With even more ways to win, even more features and even bigger wins, Desperate Dawgs 2 seems to have hit all the right notes on paper, but does this translate to the actual gameplay?
Design
Sadly, the overall vision of the slot is not changed from the previous game. The background still looks quite outdated as well as the characters on the reels. Despite this, the slot does still have some charm to it with its rustic quality.
It's also worth mentioning that this slot does not feel lifeless as there are various animations throughout. Of course, we just wished that the designs were of a higher quality.
There are three dogs in this slot acting as the stars and none of these characters looks cute. Instead, they look like violent and aggressive dogs which is most likely what the developers were going for.
As for the music, there is a Wild West score to fit in with the overall tone of the slot. The music is easily the best part as it sounds like something from a Spaghetti Western film.
Gameplay
The slot developers have definitely improved the gameplay from the previous game as there are extra features in this slot with 3 different bonus rounds. Desperate Dawgs is enhanced even more with the Gigablox feature.
When the game loads up, all the menus can be found at the bottom of the screen with the spin button and bet level button at the bottom right. In addition to this, there is a golden bet feature that is activated to increase the odds of landing a bonus round.
Win Potential
When the original Desperate Dawgs was released, the win potential was not anything special. The developers have easily improved upon this with the sequel as the maximum win is now 9,872x the stake which is a massive improvement compared to the original.
Desperate Dawgs is a low to medium-volatility slot and this sequel has a medium to high volatility instead leading to larger wins but less frequently. Sadly, the RTP is not too impressive at 95.50% which is under the average standard! It's disappointing that the RTP is under the average standard but thankfully it's not low enough to be off-putting.
Our Verdict
Whilst this slot is way better than the original, there is literally no competition between this slot and the original. Desperate Dawgs 2 is miles ahead of the previous slot and has a lot more going for it.
Despite this, do not expect Desperate Dawgs 2 to be extremely polished but have a rustic quality to it. Overall, the game is an entertaining experience that will certainly please players for a decent amount of time.
