CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Review
Everyone across the globe has heard of the outstanding CSI series that involves different crimes and solves them with a super sleuthing team. Fans will be delighted to know that Skywind have developed their own branded TV/Movie slot for CSI with everyone’s favourite Las Vegas crime team.
There are two main bonus rounds in this slot, and they include the crime scene bonus and the case file free games. So join the team to help them solve crimes across Las Vegas and uncover hidden treasure along the way.
Design
The design of this slot is similar to other Skywind slots as you’ll notice there’s a cinematic cutscene at the start. It introduces you to the slot and shows clips from the TV show. Fans will love this and newcomers will definitely be interested by what they show.
The background of the slot is naturally Las Vegas but a still image. As expected, the symbols on the reels are characters from the show. Jim Brass, Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Nick Stokes, Sara Sidle and Greg Sanders have cameos as symbols on the reels. It’s clear that this CSI game is set between season 1 to 9.
The best part about this slot has to be the spin button transformed as a fingerprint scatter. It’s something so simple but just feels incredibly cool to play with.
As expected, music from the show is featured in this slot. There is usually music playing in between spins as well as during which always makes the slot more exciting to play. You’ll notice sirens and other ambient noises to create a full atmosphere for the slot.
Gameplay
Like most Skywind titles, the menus are all at the bottom of the screen. However, the paytable can be found at the top left instead. The spin button is highlighted by a fingerprint scanner at the bottom left and has the autospin button next to it.
Don’t worry about any complicated gameplay as this slot is as traditional as it gets. All you have to do is spin and win. The 2 main features will walk you through them.
Win Potential
It’s a little disappointing but the RTP is just at average with 95.18%. This paired with a medium volatility level, you’ll expect a higher payout.
Sadly, the maximum payout seems to be when you land 5 stacked symbols which can result in 100x your stake. You can double this through the 2x multiplier in the crime scene bonus round. So the maximum win potential isn’t as high as we’d like.
Our Verdict
On the surface, this slot has everything you’d need. It’s a brilliant branded slot that stays close to the source material whilst adding new things in to make it appealing to slot players. Unfortunately, the win potential just doesn’t match up. The RTP is decent but the low maximum win will certainly put people off.
Definitely try this slot if you love CSI and even crime slots, but be aware that you won’t be winning any high cash prizes.
