Countess Cash Review
Slot games based in a casino can often feel quite impersonal, so Gold Coin Studios have created a Countess to oversee gameplay. Not only that, but they’ve also included not one, but two bonus features.
That sounds like the perfect recipe for a luxurious online slot to us, so naturally, we were first in the queue to check the game out.
Design
The Countess plays a big part in gameplay, and since it’s her casino she has to dress the part. Dripping in diamonds and jewels, she presents a slightly cartoonish figure, although the general focus is on luxury.
She’s rooting for the players though, and she’s got words of encouragement when you trigger either of the bonus rounds. This is something that Gold Coin Studios have done to great effect in Fiona’s Fortune, and it’s clearly been so successful that they’ve included it here too.
Slot developers always like to include a bit of jazz when tackling a luxury theme, so there are often some cool beats going on in the background. The Countess takes a more robust approach, with a full-scale jazz band keeping things moving along nicely.
Gameplay
The Countess isn’t just your hostess – she’s also the game’s Wild, with the ability to expand upwards if she can help you out with a win.
VIP Scatters can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 and you’ll need three to trigger the bonus round, which comes with 10 free spins. Throughout the feature the three central reels combine to generate 3 x 3 symbols, which offer substantial winning potential with every spin. Spin up a VIP Scatter as a giant symbol to generate another 10 free spins.
Land six or more casino chips in view to activate the Link & Win feature, which comes with 3 respins. Only casino chips and blanks feature in the bonus, with every chip having either a cash sum or a jackpot prize attached.
Land another chip and the respin counter resets to 3, giving you more chances to accumulate prizes. Fill all 15 spaces in the grid and you’ll be awarded the Mega Jackpot prize, in addition to all your other wins.
Win Potential
Playing cards come with a top payout between 2x – 4x your bet. The returns improve for collecting napkins, make-up and dice and cocktails, with handbags returning up to 25x the wager. The Countess Wild tops the paytable, paying up to 500x the bet in her own right, in addition to helping you out with other wins whenever she can.
The Win Booster button feature increases your bet 2.5x, adding extra Link & Win symbols onto the reels. Although this improves your chances of activating the Link & Win Bonus, it doesn’t increase the value of any paytable wins.
The Link & Win bonus is where the Jackpot prizes are to be found. Fill the entire grid with symbols to win the Mega Jackpot payout.
- Casino chips: 1.5x – 20x
- Mini: 50x
- Minor: 150x
- Major: 750x
- Mega: 5,000x
Our Verdict
We know that Link & Win slot games are always a big hit with slot players, so we’re confident Countess Cash will attract plenty of attention. Couple that mechanic with the giant symbols in the VIP Free Spins bonus round, and there’s a lot to enjoy.
Even if luxury-themed slots and jazz music aren’t usually your style, we think Countess Cash is worth a look. With four jackpot prizes and a potential payout worth 12,500x your stake, why wouldn’t you take the game for a few spins?
