Bloodthirst Review
Whilst Hacksaw Gaming is known for creating darker slots such as The Bowery Boys and Wanted Dead or a Wild, it's not every day that you find a slot directly about monsters! Bloodthirst is all about the most famous monsters in history from werewolves to vampires.
In Bloodthirst, it's up to you to defeat these monsters. Don't worry though - as you'll be rewarded if you manage to take them all dark. You'll also have the help of bonus rounds and Monster Reels to help you on your quest.
Design
Bloodthirst has an extremely dark tone throughout the slot. The overall design looks like something you'd find in an old storybook with horrific visuals such as gruesome monsters. These are definitely not the sort of monsters you'd find in Twilight. The vampires are scary and covered in blood, whilst the werewolves look horrific.
If you love anything horror related, then you've come to the right place with this slot. The background looks like an oil painting telling the fable of the monsters with a massive castle in the distance. Alongside that, there's nothing extra throughout but the slot doesn't need it.
In terms of the audio, there is ambient music throughout the slot with a piano playing. It feels like a twist musical score that you'd hear in a horror film or game. It's quite unsettling when matched with the visuals. We recommend listening with your headphones on for the best effect.
Gameplay
Whilst the design is pretty impressive but simple, the same cannot be said for the gameplay. Sadly, the returning trope from Hacksaw Gaming of two bonus rounds is back. Bloodthirst contains two bonus rounds but they are almost identical.
The Monster Reels is a fun mechanic that is not too complicated to understand. We definitely think this helped the slot stand out from every other Hacksaw Gaming slot. This mechanic leads to expanding symbols awarding extra cash prizes. It's nothing that will revolutionise the slot world but it's a welcomed addition to an otherwise standard Hacksaw Gaming slot.
Win Potential
One trope that is often found with Hacksaw Gaming slots is a grand win potential. Thankfully, this slot continues this trend with high RTP and a big maximum win. The RTP stands at 96.19% whilst the maximum win is 10,000x the stake in this high volatility slot.
In order to achieve the maximum win, you'll have to trigger the Immortals bonus round. During this feature, you can win up to 10,000x the stake. Alongside this, there is a hit rate of 21% which is the frequency at which you'll win a prize. Whilst this may seem quite low, it's quite standard for modern online slots.
Our Verdict
If you opened up Bloodthirst and simply started playing, you wouldn't know it was a Hacksaw Gaming slot until the bonus rounds. The overall presentation of the slot is quite interesting and will definitely appeal to horror fans looking for something scary.
Our only criticism is that we wished that the bonus rounds were more distinct. Despite this, we still enjoyed our playthrough and would definitely go back for a few spins. This is one monster mash that you do not want to miss out on!
