There's always a lot going on in the most recent Four Leaf Gaming slots. I'm pleased to say that Bloodaxe is no exception and all of the usual modifiers and options are on display. This game even goes a little bit further than some of the others in this developer's inventory and brings Wild Axes into the fold.
Each time a Wild symbol lands, an axe is flung at a target to the top of the screen. Depending on which part of the target it hits, you could get up to 3 points. Once you have 4 points from one of the targets, you get 4 respins. During these respins, the reel below the target that triggered the feature will be a complete stack of Wilds.
You can collect gold coins that are added to the Game and Fortune sign to the top left of the screen, and this is where you can start to purchase additional areas of the game. In the UK, you won't be able to add your own money to directly buy into a feature, but these gold coins can be used to compensate for the cost of a Bonus Buy in some areas.

It is fair to say that there's a lot going on in Bloodaxe but does all of it add value to this production? It could be a little overkill for some people but other slots fans will find a lot of enjoyment with the variation.
There is a nice snowy background that Four Leaf Gaming has presented before in their hit slot Everest, but this time we are focused on the Vikings rather than those choosing to scale a mountain. All of the symbols and other imagery are fairly standard for this theme and the soundtrack probably won't leave you with an opinion one way or another. Bloodaxe offers up all of its secrets for a price and this saves you from having to wait around for a bonus to trigger. Unfortunately, players in the UK may have to slog it out and hope to see something special occur. The free spins gamble both before and after the feature could be seen as enticing by some but I wasn't convinced. Having just a couple of spins added and the potential to replay the game didn't seem worth the gamble when you could lose everything in the process.
The hit rate is pretty low at just 20%, so you could be waiting around for regular wins and possibly even longer for bonus features to trigger. Although a good run can see everything fall into place at the right time. The volatility is medium-high and the RTP is a little light at 95%.
Bloodaxe is a great concept, especially when you consider all of the added extras that you can get involved with. However, it does feel like this game was created for the offshore markets given how restrictive it may be for us here in the UK.
