Once again, Rogue is turning away from regular paylines with the introduction of Turbo Reels.
Everything looks fairly tame as you take on the five reels and three rows, but then you look towards the dials at the bottom of the screen.
These dials will increase wins with a multiplier or split reels and give your bonus entry an extra boost.
Regular payouts are determined by landing groups of three, four or five royals or picture symbols. The royals pay up to 0.5x and the pictures pay up to 5x. Wild symbols substitute for others, except bonus symbols, and payout in their own right for a group of five.
As you spin, the dials will fire up some multipliers worth up to 10x and if you hit a win, the multiplier is applied. Split reels will stretch up to five reels with extra symbols on them to create the maximum number of paylines.
Entry into the bonus game happens when three, four or five bonus symbols hit the reels. If the triggering spin does not contain any bonus boost, you'll have between 5 and 15 free spins, depending on how many scatters you land.
Increasing the booster means an increased number of spins. If you can hit the top boost with five scatter symbols, you'll get 25 free spins.
Revving up the Wild Dial brings extra wild symbols to the reels during the bonus game and this can help accumulate extra wins where you didn't think they were possible.
Boost symbols move your car along the track and when you reach a checkpoint, you'll receive more spins.
The bonus game can take a long time to complete and you certainly feel like you’re getting value for money at that point! I enjoyed it for the most part but I think I had nearly 30 spins by the end of it and that kept me occupied for quite a while. I managed to sign for a takeaway delivery, unpack all the food and start my lunch before it came to an end.

I haven't received word of an official volatility rating for this slot yet but my experience puts it somewhere down the middle in the medium category. I saw regular wins and they would generally be of pretty decent value.
Triggering the bonus game wasn't like trying to purchase unicorn manure and the additional modifiers aren't exactly shy either. The RTP of 94% might not please some, but the potential to hit 5,000x is here and that should keep everybody happy.

I'm not sure if 1.21 Gigawatts should perhaps carry a health warning though for people with epilepsy – it made my eyes feel very strange after I'd been playing for a while!
The game's symbols are synonymous with the movie series and you even hear the engine rev as the dials get moving. I wasn't a huge fan of the soundtrack, but that's just a personal preference.
The aim of the game is to take this time machine to Utopia and witness one of the lengthiest bonus games I’ve had the pleasure of playing. The base game is great fun and there's more than just a hint of Back to the Future about this slot from Rogue.
