You could say that not a lot has changed since the original version hit our screens in 2018. However, one of the most noticeable changes is the increased max payout of 10,000x and the sharp design is definitely an improvement.
Like the original game, you get 20 paylines to work with and a number of symbols creating winning combos across them. The royal symbols produce a payout of up to 1.4x but the picture symbols are a lot more valuable. The bees will score 30x for a 5-of-a-kind win.
Most symbols require a minimum of 3 to create a win but the dollar symbol and bee symbol only need 2. Wild Honey and Sticky Wild symbols substitute for other regular paying symbols but you'll only see the Sticky Wild symbol during the bonus games.
2 bee symbols exist and as they land, they head off to the hive for collection. Worker Bees increase the Hive Meter by +1 but the Queen Bee increases it by +5. A Wild Honey symbol is left behind in their place.

These Wild symbols will only land on reels 2 and 4 along with a 2x and 4x multiplier, respectively. Fill the reel with Wilds and unlock the multiplier.
Swarm mode is an enhanced version of the free spins with 10 free plays available. A reel multiplier is placed above every reel and goes from 2x to 8x. Instead of random Sticky Wilds, you get an entire stack of them with this game. Again, multipliers pay when the reel is full of Wilds.
During the base game, I managed to trigger the Chest Feature a few times and the result was mainly instant wins. On one occasion, I received 5 free spins and was able to see how the multipliers and sticky Wilds came together to create bigger wins. The win potential has grown to 10,000x and this is quite a jump from the original 3,000x. The volatility is now high, which is slightly more daunting than before. The RTP is a little lower at 96.67% but this is still a fantastic stat. After spinning for a considerable time, my balance didn't take too much of a bruising and I saw some decent wins as well.
Things are looking pretty sweet out there in Wild Swarm 2. A serene forest setting sees a few leaves falling from above and vines twisting their way around the trees. I'm not sure if the bees live in this hive or in the little cute houses dotted throughout the trees but either way, they seem to have a good thing going on. It's a fairy tale classic score with quite a nice upbeat tempo that keeps you amused on a range of devices including Apple and Android mobiles. Slot designs don't come much better than this.
Both Wild Swarm games seem fantastic to me, so it’s hard to say which one’s best. If you prefer things a bit grittier and grainier, then go for the original but if you like a crisp upgrade with a bigger payout, then Wild Swarm 2 could be the slot for you.
