Stunt Stars Review
Stunt Stars is a fairly basic game at heart but it brings an intriguing edge to the show with the addition of the extra scatter symbols. It makes the winning potential during the base game a little better and if triggered, it can certainly help break up the standard reel spinning along the way.
It's a theme that hasn't been used too many times before so we have to appreciate the originality of the project from Lightning Box. It comes together well and there are some nice touches to help draw you in and feel part of the movie set.
The slot developer could have gone further with the features but with free spins and the additional stunt feature, there is more going on than in some other titles.
As you can imagine, the Stunt Stars slot has the reels sitting in a typical movie set background. There are a few buildings on set with cameras dotted around and the producer sits patiently to the right of the screen.
It feels a little old-fashioned and you wouldn't be surprised if you found out this game was created 15 years ago. But as it stands, it is one of the latest releases and Lightning Box has done a heck of a job in producing a retro atmosphere.
The sound effects are also in keeping with an older-style game with a guitar riff accompanying each spin. Everything works perfectly across mobile devices as well so you won't have any trouble enjoying Stunt Stars while you are out and about.
During the base game, the only animated elements are the cameras moving up and down to the side of the reels and when the scatter symbols land. But the skydive bonus sees more evidence of the creator's skills.
You get to choose your character and watch them fly through the sky. This part of the game, again, feels pretty old school as well. There is nothing technically advanced about the game design but it is a good effort that captures the imagination.
Stunt Stars isn’t a run-of-the-mill game thanks to the 2 features that keep things feeling fresh and varied throughout. Having the chance to add double wins to your tally or even random 30x wins when at least 3 stars hit the reels is always a nice addition.
There’s just about enough going on to hold your attention and the movie scene theme isn’t one that’s been done to death in recent years.
The game symbols are made up of the standard royals for the lower payers with some of the action stars and their equipment producing bigger wins.
A respectable 17,010x max win is more than generous for a medium-volatility game and the RTP at 95.99% is fairly standard. As always, the main feature needs to be triggered to see the best prizes come your way.
Lightning Box always keeps us on our toes with its varied productions and potentially powerful features. And we were happy to see that they haven’t let their standards slip with their latest effort.
Stunt Stars is an enjoyable slot and it kept us hooked throughout. So we’d definitely recommend giving it a go.
