Kaiser Review
The year is 1914 and war has shaken the world as it's the start of World War I. All the soldiers can hear is the thunder of marching boots and the waves of tanks coming at them. This is where we join the lonely soldier of Hans Schultz as he tries to navigate the battlefield and find victory for himself.
Developed by Peter & Sons, Kaiser is an action and adventure slot that plays on 5-reels with 40 paylines. The slot itself is straightforward but oozes with charm due to the creativity of the developers and the fantastic RTP of 97%. Are you ready to dive onto the battlefield for glory?
Design
As soon as you open up the slot, you are greeted by a menu to set up the slot (such as bet level and sound settings) but this is done with the focus on a phonograph on the battle to let you know exactly what time period you are at. It's a small detail but shows exactly what Peter & Sons are about.
When the slot begins, you'll notice a derelict battlefield with the occasional tank and explosions that completely rumble the screen. Surrounding the battlefield, you'll notice spoke and bullets flying about to really show you that this is a serious battlefield. The focus on the slot is on Hans Schultz who is next to the reel and ready for battle.
Next to the reel, you find a variety of items from different swords, rocks, boxes and war helmets which just add further to the war theme. As for Hans, he thankfully adds a lot of charm to the slot and really gets excited throughout winning spins. During the non-winning spins, it would be appreciated if he did a bit more but overall Hans is a great addition that feels welcomed.
During the free spins round, an ambulance comes to help and it cuts to a Hans doing the knife game to determine the free spins. After free spins are triggered, the background turns insane with crazy weather and even more gunfire to show the intensity.
As for the sounds, it's what you expect with marching and epic war music with various brass instruments. Peter & Sons have definitely created a tense atmosphere that blends well with their cooky style to make Kaiser a thoroughly fun slot.
Gameplay
The gameplay is fully standard and simple to play. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but it delivers exciting gameplay that many online slot players will love. All the relevant menus that you may need can be found at the bottom with the bet level and spin button, with the spin button being found at the bottom right of the screen.
Win Potential
Kaiser is a medium to high volatility slot with an unbelievable RTP of 97% which is absolutely brilliant for an online slot. As for the maximum wins, you can win up to 2,333x your stake through the free spins with the multiplier but sadly that's the most. Despite this being a low amount, players can bet up to 100.00 which means that the wins could be high provided that you have the bankroll to sustain yourself.
Our Verdict
It's not every day that you get to experience a World War I slot, but this one is utterly charming. For something based on a serious point in history, Peter & Sons take it seriously whilst adding their own unique flair to make it an engaging and entertaining slot.
The design is fantastic, the gameplay is easy to follow and the features are worthy enough to provide a decent time. Perhaps, the only negative is the low maximum payout of 2,333x your stake which can only be made worthwhile through betting the maximum - which doesn't appeal to every sort of slot player.
Kaiser can be a slot for casual players but it really speaks to the high rollers with the bankroll to sustain themselves. Despite this, Kaiser is definitely worth a spin and you should definitely try it out.
