Taking a spin on Invictus offers an interesting multiplier proposition! You’ve got five reels and four rows and 14 ways to watch the wins fall and the most forgettable results come from the royals, which only return your bet with a five of a kind win. 4 picture symbols pay 2x, 4x, 5x or 10x as a maximum win. Wild symbols will also get you 10x if you manage a group of five of these.
The best way to improve your payouts is to coincide your wins with Pantheon Multiplier. Obviously, the gods will decide if you are lucky or not and you can see these additional figures added to the left and right-hand side of the grid.
With each spin, a multiplier is chosen for each row. You see this occur with a little bolt of neon blue colour on the left-hand pillar. When a win arrives, it takes on the multiplier from the starting point and you'll be pleased to know that these are worth up to 100x.
If your win makes it across to the right-hand side and produces a five of a kind, you can see an additional 20x added to the value and you'll also trigger a respin. If you add to your win, you get another respin!

There are three levels to this bonus bonanza with Temple of Jupiter being the most basic. Immortal Gains is the mid-range version and Dominus Maximus is the super version. Each bonus gives you 10 free spins but the modifications get better as you progress. The first increases the chance of higher multipliers, the second gives you a minimum 5x left-hand multiplier and the last will add a middle multiplier.
I struggled to make ends meet during the base game despite the regular multiplier figures. They can apparently grow quite high but I found 1x and 2x to be the most frequent outcome. I didn't make it all the way across the board to pick up the additional multiplier on the right-hand side either, which doesn't come as a great surprise as five-of-a-kind wins aren't exactly common with most video slots.
The added respin would be a lovely touch if again, you can make it all the way across the grid, but at least the starting multiplier got a bit better during the bonus game and I saw some more respectable wins turning up. I wasn't able to get my balance anywhere near to where it started, though.
The volatility has a 4/5 rating and this should present the occasional big reward. The downside to this is that your balance will pay the price while you wait. 10,000x is the advertised max win.
Hacksaw Gaming seems to favour a couple of identical or similar characters gracing the sides of their game areas. The black and white background combined with bright neon colours is very typical for this developer as well and the sound effects are just as quirky as they always are. The game is easy enough to figure out and even players on small mobile phones shouldn't get lost anytime soon. It's typically Hacksaw, put it that way!
Hacksaw Gaming is churning out the slots at the rate of knots! With their sister studios, that both produce very similar games to this developer, also going for weekly releases, it feels like the market is starting to get saturated with similar-looking games and very similar mechanics.
The feature selections aren't moving on as fast as I would have liked and it feels like the creators are struggling to come up with anything original. If you take Invictus on face value and forget about anything that's come before, then you've got a decent-looking game with some solid features to look forward to and a chance to hit some big wins. Occasional slot spinners will enjoy this more than players who keep up with all the latest releases.
