Grand Melee Review
Some of our favourite slots depicting Knights and old-school kings are fun and light-hearted. After all, it's hard to take a man seriously in a full metal bodysuit these days. You won't find too much to challenge your slot intellect with Grand Melee but what Thunderkick has done is reproduce a couple of much-loved features and modifiers that should keep you entertained throughout.
The developer has gone for more of a cartoon feel rather than trying to second-guess what a 15th-century punch-up would have looked like. It's a colourful creation and while the soundtrack isn't anything out of the ordinary, it serves a purpose and shouldn't offend your ears. You can pick this game up on various devices including mobiles if you wish.
The base game is fixated on those sticky respins and not a spin goes by where you aren't hoping to see this feature trigger. It can bring big wins and it helps keep you on the edge of your seat during the base game as well. The bonus game isn't exactly groundbreaking but we imagine that the biggest wins will appear at this point.
Speaking of wins, Grand Melee has a fairly modest max 5,000x payout. This is accompanied by 96.17% RTP and you can expect pretty high volatility at the same time. So, it may not be the most generous slot on paper but if you pick this one up at the right time, your bankroll could flourish.
Thunderkick has not produced Grand Melee as part of its burning ambitions to own the best game of 2023 but rather as a light-hearted slot that you will happily tinker about with if you're short of things to do for a few minutes. It probably won't become your new obsession, but it is worth trying your luck.
