Gold Mine Stacks 2 Review
In 2022, Gold Mine Stacks came out of nowhere! It was a slot that just appeared and players went absolutely crazy. After all, what's not to love about a respin mechanic slot that can award up to 50,000x the stake?
Seeing this success, Games Global decided it was time for a sequel and called in Nailed It! Games again for Gold Mine Stacks 2. Everything that was fantastic about the original returns but with a different setting this time. The gold mines are still close by but they are a little frozen this time.
Design
The original slot was not a masterpiece in visuals but it was at least something we hadn't seen before. Sadly, that is not the case with this one as it's almost identical but with a frosted look instead.
This is incredibly disappointing as the original game had so much promise and we were hoping the sequel wouldn't feel like a cheap cash grab visually. That's not to say that it doesn't look nice but it's literally what we've seen before.
The same symbols return with different gems throughout and the music is even almost identical. If you loved the original, then you'll certainly love the design of this game as it feels almost the same.
Gameplay
You will definitely get a case of deja vu with this slot as the gameplay is almost identical to the original. The Wild Stacks, the bonus round and even the 'randomizer' is the same.
We did enjoy the gameplay in the first game but expected more from the sequel. It feels like this slot is just a reskin of the first game but with a slightly different visual. It's disappointing to not see anything extra.
Win Potential
With a sequel, you'd expect a better win potential right? Thankfully, the RTP is better from 96% to 96.07%. Whilst this is not a big jump, we're just happy to see something a little different.
The maximum win and volatility stay the same. You can win up to 50,000x the stake in this slot which is absolutely bonkers still. This can be won through level 16 of the bonus round. We're happy to say that this is the one aspect of the original that we are glad to see return.
Our Verdict
Gold Mine Stacks 2 had the potential to be an epic sequel that followed the original closely but make some much-needed changes such as an extra bonus round or more throughout the base game. Sadly, the game did not do this and just simply copied the original.
The game itself is still incredible as the first game was but we found ourselves let down by the lack of change. We know that Nailed It! Games has the potential to be a legendary slot developer with innovations but that is not shown in this slot - instead, it was shown in the original Gold Mine Stacks and just copied into this one.
If you have to choose between this slot and the original, we'd definitely recommend the second one just for the added RTP. However, there is no major difference and you'd be guaranteed to have an entertaining time with both Gold Mine Stacks.
