You don't get any wilds or anything fancy like that but you will see a multiplier. During the base game, it isn't guaranteed but there's a good chance that you might grab a 2x, 5x, 10x or 100x multiplier each time you see a win. The total prize from the gems is multiplied by the additional figure and this goes to your balance. After a win is recorded, the symbols will disappear and new ones come down to take their place.
To get out of this fiery base game grid, you have a couple of options. Either you can wait for three scatter symbols to land, or if you're outside the UK, you can buy your way directly into the bonus. It'll cost 100x to get there and if you'd like to see a super version, it will cost 400x.

The small base game wins can be helped along quite nicely by those multipliers but it will all depend on which one comes your way and if one comes at all! Obviously, a decent combo with a 100x addition would be quite something. The bonus game guarantees these multipliers and if you pick up Gem Fire Fortune at the right time, then you might start pushing your balance towards about 15,000x max win. Watch out for high volatility though.
There's something not quite right about this game's design and I think it's because it doesn't really have an identity. It seems to be in some sort of Egyptian tomb with fire burning all around but the soundtrack doesn't quite fit and the odd steampunk cogs working away to the side of the grid are a weird addition as well. The pan pipes don't help and as you move into the bonus feature, everything turns a little bit over-the-top and you get some game show applause when a big win lands!
All good slots need a good base game modifier if they're going to stand out from the millions of others that have arrived on the market in recent months. Is an added multiplier enough to highlight this creation from Pragmatic Play? For me, it doesn't quite cut it but if this is your first outing with a grid slot, then you might just enjoy what you find in Gem Fire Fortune.
