Firebird 27 Review
The Firebird slot series is a staple from SYNOT Games. Each Firebird slot brings something new to the table. Firebird Double 27, the previous game, doubled the ways to win giving players up to 54 ways to win.
Firebird 27 is the next instalment in the series and continues on with the fiery theme mixed with fruit slot elements. The setup is simple but full of action-packed moments awaiting around every corner. Could this be the hottest Firebird yet?
Design
The minute you open up the slot, you'll feel like you've been transported to a fiery pit. Surrounding the reels, there are flames everywhere. These flames are red and continue to burn throughout the slot.
To accompany the flames, there are different fruit symbols featured on the reels. For the most part, these symbols look normal. However, there are subtle flames drawn on them which is a nice touch from SYNOT Games.
Thankfully, the Firebird is just as striking as usual. It appears as the wild and stands out amongst the rest of the symbols.
The music throughout the slot is quite ominous. There are drums and synth noises throughout as well as echoes of the reels spinning. It's definitely darker than we expected.
Gameplay
Firebird 27 sticks to the basics of fruit slots. During spins, there are wilds to assist in bigger wins. However, the biggest feature in this slot is the gambling feature leading to the biggest wins.
After each win, there is the option to gamble. Selecting the right colour will lead to the win being doubled, whilst selecting the wrong colour will lead to the win being lost entirely.
The most exciting moments come from the gamble feature. It's a staple found in most SYNOT slots and we were relieved to see it here.
Win Potential
The original Firebird slot had a mediocre win potential with a low RTP of 95.11% and a small maximum win. Thankfully, the RTP has almost been solved in this slot with a level of 95.96%. Whilst this is under our recommended level, it's so close to 96% that it's easy to forgive this.
Firebird 27 also has a medium volatility level which will give you the best of both worlds. Some moments will contain high volatility wins, whilst others will have low. This is perfect for players unsure of which volatility they prefer.
Sadly, the win has not been improved since the last game released in 2019. With this slot, you can win up to 450x the stake. This is more attainable than most other slots, but it means that players looking for massive wins will have to look elsewhere.
Our Verdict
During our experience with Firebird 27, we found that the 'gamble feature' was our best friend. Every win was made even more thrilling through the gamble feature. Even during times when we didn't win, the 'gamble feature' was still worth it.
The base game can become a little repetitive without it. This is certainly for fruity slot players wanting a simple game with explosive wins. Those looking for feature-heavy slots, give Masters of Eclipse and Zeus Wild Thunder a spin instead.
If you are an old-school player looking for a classic slot, then look no further than Firebird 27.
