Dragon's Luck Review
Dragon’s Luck is a 5-reel, 10 payline Oriental themed online slot from Red Tiger Gaming that’s based around the number 138. Why 138 we here you ask? Well, this is because the number 138 represents ‘prosperity for life’ in Chinese culture, and who doesn’t like prosperity?
This game was the very first online slot Red Tiger released, and despite not being filled to rafters with innovative features (and having a distinct lack of free spins) this game still offers plenty to enjoy, and at the time set the benchmark for what a good online slot from this studio should look and feel like.
Design
Unsurprisingly, this slot takes heavy inspiration from ancient China, the reels are set on a stunning temple with two imposing silver and jade dragons curled around two pillars located either side of the game screen. A beautifully drawn mountain landscape sits behind the reels.
The symbols are all those you’d expect in an Oriental themed online slot, low paying slots are 10, J, Q, K, A drawn in cursive, whilst the higher paying symbols include a lotus flower, koi fish, traditional doll and the number 138.
Unfortunately, this is one of those games that doesn’t feature any sound until the reels have been spun, which does diminish the overall vibe and atmosphere of Dragon’s Luck. When the reels are being spun around two seconds of calming traditional music is played.
Gameplay
Dragon’s Luck is played on 5 reels and 3 rows, with 10 paylines in total, simple! You can typically place bets between £0.10 and £100, however, this may change based on where you opt to play this slot.
Like all Red Tiger games, the stake limit is changed by pressing a button in the bottom left-hand corner of the game screen and the reels are spun by pressing a large round button on the bottom right-hand corner of the game screen. You can also set a maximum of 100 auto-spins at any time as long as a loss limit is set beforehand.
Win Potential
If you manage to fill the entire game screen with '138' symbols then you'll win the game’s maximum payout, which is a somewhat lacklustre 1,380x your initial stake. When you consider this game is volatile and has a below-average RTP of 95.05% then we have a right to be disappointed about the win potential here.
Our Verdict
Red Tiger Gaming are a fantastic development studio and have created some incredible online slots over the last few years, however, this isn’t one of them. We won’t give this slot too much flack as we’re well aware it was one of their first attempts… However, they really should have given more thought to the bonus features and payouts as it really lets this online slot down.
