Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase Review
When people think of Wolf slots, they often picture the generic wildlife Wolf slots that contain a normal-looking wolf. Boomerang Studios decided that they wanted to do something different and partnered with Relax Gaming to release Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase.
Playing on 5-reels with 729 ways to win, Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase delivers crystalised wolves and other animals with a psychedelic edge. Throughout the gameplay, players will be delighted to find respins and the unique Side Strike feature.
Design
The slot opens up with a full moon in the distance and a night sky. There are barren trees that are blowing in the wind to showcase the dark environment.
On the reels, there are a variety of symbols relating to nature such as wolves and deers but these are all in crystallised forms to deliver something that sparkles and looks incredible. These symbols even animate throughout wins which is a cool detail.
As expected, the music for this slot is quite ominous but also relaxing with a soft synth score in the distance paired with ambient noises of animals.
Gameplay
If there wasn't the Side Strike feature, then this game would definitely just be another respin slot. However, the Side Strike feature makes the game unique and adds a whole new layer to the gameplay.
The right side of the screen hosts the spin button as well as the Side Strike button. Further to the left, players will find the bet level and other settings.
Win Potential
Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase has a higher RTP than expected for a Boomerang slot but it's still low at 95.70%. This is under the average standard and not acceptable for a medium to high volatility slot.
As for the maximum win, it's under the average acceptable level at 4,711x the stake which is not great. This paired with the low RTP definitely drops the fun of this slot.
Our Verdict
The premise of Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase is fantastic and the design is absolutely stunning. However, the execution is definitely lacking as there is only a respin mechanic and the Side Bet. Without the Side Bet feature, this slot would not have anything special going on.
Sadly, the win potential is perhaps the most disappointing fact about this slot as the RTP is under the average standard and the win does not compensate for this. Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase is a slot that is worth a spin if you love wolf slots but do not expect any wins bigger than 4,711x the stake.
