Crimson Moon Link&Win Review
Some players might load this game up and automatically dismiss it as a bit of a cheesy comic book rip-off. Sure, the production value isn't top-drawer and the features are a little old-hat these days, but there's still something about this game that I like. Maybe I just enjoy games that don't take themselves too seriously!
Design
You can probably close your eyes and predict about 90% of the design elements in this game. It's a dark cloudy sky with a full moon lighting a city that appears to be in trouble. Our two superheroes are ready to help you on your quest to restore law and order and line your pockets with some of the cash that has been put aside to subsidise this crime-fighting initiative.
A repetitive classical score is occasionally interrupted by the corny one-liners from our crime-fighting duo, but the good news is that you get to hear them on your mobile devices as well.
Gameplay
As soon as you acknowledge the lack of modern-day modifiers, you know that the base game is going to be a bit of a bumpy ride. Collecting regular wins is all well and good but you will be mainly focused on the Scatters and Link&Win symbols. I don't think this is a huge issue though as Crimson Moon is just going with the flow.
Win Potential
It is possible to walk away with a maximum of 12,650x for your troubles in Crimson Moon Link&Win. The 4 jackpot prizes can certainly help get you there with the Mega prize producing a fantastic 5,000x. Don't forget that Wild symbols can also bring in a haul of 500x for a matching group of 5. As far as the RTP is concerned, you can expect 96.08% for the standard offering, but if you are outside the UK and are able to use the Win Booster system, then this gets increased a little. The volatility is very high.
My Verdict
A game like this usually gets short shrift from me as everything feels very predictable and, ideally, I would have liked to have seen more modifiers to help get me in the mood as I set about saving this city from its pending doom. However, Crimson Moon has either knowingly or unwittingly stumbled into the realms of playful whimsy—and it's managed to win me over! Perhaps, it just caught me in a good mood or maybe there really is an underlying lovable element to these familiar features that you need to try out for yourself to see what I mean.
