At first glance, it doesn't strike me as a Hacksaw creation but it's good to see that this forward-thinking developer is happy to push the limits in other directions. With the promise of huge multipliers, they aren’t exactly in uncharted territory, but they often have a way of presenting things in a way that keeps it all interesting and fresh at the same time.
There are no fixed paylines in this game as you’re working with a grid instead. You have a 6x5 game area to enjoy and standard wins are made up of various gems. The lower payers can get you up to 50x for a group of 19 or more matching symbols. There are five higher-paying symbols and the top one is the red, ornate gem with a 400x payout for the maximum group size.
These wins sound fairly substantial but remember that many of the payouts will be a lot lower as the popular winning combos are about 8 or 9 symbols. For this, you would only get a maximum of 2x for the top-paying symbol.
These small win values aren't of huge importance when the multipliers begin to fall. Without them, you won't get anywhere, so keep everything crossed! Standard multipliers offer values of up to 4x and each time a win lands, the multiplier continues to grow until it is applied to the overall win. Once the winning cascades finish, the reels/grid resets and you start again.
Other multipliers may be a little more valuable and these are known as Super Multiplier symbols. These can grow to 20x. If that's not good enough for you, wait for an Epic symbol to land and you’ll grab between 5x and 100x as a result.
Watching the multiplier figures build up is the only way to see your balance increase – I was lucky enough to witness base game wins well in excess of 40x.

Any multipliers that land are applied to your wins and they also go to an overall meter at the top of the screen. These begin to build up and your last few spins could get quite tasty! I witnessed it for myself and as expected, the first five or six spins didn't really produce a lot but then the multiplier started to head in the right direction and by the end of my game, I had over 900x.
Regular payouts are enhanced by a number of multiplier symbols. There are regular ones which have values of up to 4x and there are super ones which can grow to 20x. If you see an epic symbol, you could receive 100x as your multiplier. Multipliers keep growing as the winning combinations keep dropping.
Three scatter symbols get you 10 free spins which play out in a very similar way to the base game. Four scatter symbols will trigger the Divine Boost version of the bonus and now your multipliers are added to a progressive meter which helps your payouts explode with one final boost.
You can't argue with multipliers worth up to 100x, and that's just in the base game. For this reason, Hacksaw says that it is possible to hit the 10,000x max win at any time whilst playing the bonus or base games. For me, the real excitement came with the progressive multiplier during the advanced version of the free spins bonus. I did still see some nice wins in the base game but I can't imagine you'll see the top payout at that point. The RTP is 96.24% and if you're taking advantage of the direct purchase features, then this will vary.
Cloud Princess is definitely one of the most tranquil games I've seen for a while and what you'll get is an anime creation with lots of clouds and expensive-looking gems. Our regal protagonist floats to the side of the grid and the soundtrack is extremely relaxing. This all changes as you move into the bonus game and things start to get a bit faster and a little more trancy! You can also play this game on IOS and Android mobile phones if you prefer to get out and about while you take a few spins.
It's really not what I expected from Hacksaw but it still had a familiar feel as the multiplier mechanic kicked into gear. There is huge win potential in the enhanced free spins game, but you'll need to be patient to get there unless you have access to the bonus buy options.

Cloud Princess is said to have a large 6x5 grid and the potential to pay out big prizes. I've received no confirmation yet as to whether this will be a regular payline slot or something more extravagant like a cluster pays or scatter pays game. If the grid size is correct, I'd be expecting cluster pays. This could mean that you can win by landing matching symbols anywhere on the grid as long as they form the minimum requirement and are touching horizontally or vertically.
You can always expect some features and modifiers to appear in all Hacksaw games. Whether it's multipliers, mystery symbols or other familiar sites, there'll be something keeping the base game fresh and it's more than likely that scatter symbols will be required to trigger any bonus action.
You are pretty much guaranteed at least one free spins bonus but with this developer, you might even get two or three. Collecting more than the standard three scatter symbols should push you into an advanced game and perhaps even a super version of free spins. The idea usually is that multipliers don't reset and you will see other modifiers land more frequently.
