Bonnie & Clyde Review
When you think of Bonnie & Clyde, you think of the roguish pair of criminals from the 50s. They are perhaps the most famous lovers in history known for robbing banks and generally committing crimes. Such an exciting story of course has been romanticised throughout history, and BF Games have done so with a radical online slot.
Their version of Bonnie & Clyde feels more like if Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez directed their own Bonnie & Clyde film. It has a pulp tone to it that some slot fans will absolutely adore. Bonnie & Clyde is a 5-reel, 3 row slot with 20 paylines. Whilst the game may not have a huge amount of features, it makes up for it with pure style.
Design
As you spin you move through route 66 in the desert. Sometimes you can see cops, sometimes you just see the desert. It’s a cool edition that makes the slot feel even more like an experience. You’ll feel the thrill of escaping the police whilst you cruise down route 66.
Designs on the characters feel like a graphic novel coming to life. You could imagine this Bonnie & Clyde slot being a heavily popular novel as the characters come to life even on the reels. All the characters look directly influenced by Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers as the style seems to be going for a dangerously fun aesthetic.
Audio wise - Bonnie & Clyde is incredible. Whilst you are waiting between spins, you can hear ambient sounds of the desert such as eagles and rattlesnakes. When you spin the reels, you have suited music that just sounds too funky to hate. Not only that, but characters comment and react when you spin them and the sounds match the atmosphere outside the reels. The whole design on Bonnie & Clyde is completely outstanding.
Gameplay
It’s so easy and fun to play on Bonnie & Clyde. Everything you need is at the bottom of the screen. It can get confusing as the bottom menu expands depending on what you click on, but all you need to do is click to return. The spin, instructions, bet level and autospin are all featured at the bottom of the screen. You can choose between 10 and 100 autospins that can be cancelled at any time.
Win Potential
There are only 20 paylines which is lacking compared to most modern slots but not the end of the world for a slot. The RTP on the other hand is another matter. It's at a depressing and measly 95.92% which is below the average standard. Of course, the game tries to make up for this with free spins and multipliers to sweeten the deal.
Provided that you bet the right conditions and roll 5 cigarette man symbols during the multiplier at max, then you could win up to 750x your stake. It’s not a huge amount but it’s okay. The best thing about Bonnie & Clyde in regards to win potential is the medium volatility level, meaning that the payout frequency is bang in the middle.
Our Verdict
Bonnie & Clyde is a visually masterpiece that takes you to this pulpy and exhilarating world. Even with the bonus features and mechanics, it’s still incredibly entertaining. It’s hugely let down by the win potential being quite low. If the RTP was above the standard and you had the possibility to win bigger, Bonnie & Clyde could've been a big contender for a masterpiece.
For an intoxicating crime slot that is just a wild adventure through and through - try out Bonnie & Clyde. You’ll be blown away by everything you see.
