The action takes place on a 5x3 grid. To win, players need to land matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the first reel. The 4 different playing card suits are the low pays, and they’re all worth the same. A 5-of-a-kind will win you 0.3x the stake. The different skeleton characters are the high-paying symbols. Land a 5-of-a-kind made up of them and you can win between 10x and 100x.
Every time you hit a win, you also win a respin, but that’s not all. The overall win multiplier starts off at 1x but doubles with every respin. As long as you hit at least 1 winning combo, you’ll get another respin and a doubled multiplier. In theory, you could get the win multiplier all the way up to 512x!
If you manage to land 3 scatter symbols, you’ll trigger the bonus game. You pass from the 5x3 game area and move to one which can reach up to 7x7. When the round starts, only the middle 3x3 area is active. The rest of the grid is made up of Blockers. You start off with 2 spins, although those reset every time you manage to land a special symbol. Every time you clear 20 Blockers, you increase the number of spins you start off with after a reset. The maximum is 4.
The round's special symbols serve to change Blockers into active squares or into multipliers. Once a square is active, a special symbol can land there and or it can become a multiplier. After a special feature serves its function, it also turns into a multiplier. The object is to change as many squares into multipliers as possible before you run out of spins.
When play starts, your 3 scatters turn into feature symbols, which then proceed to carry out their respective functions. There are 4 different feature symbols. The Magic Staff targets 1 symbol multiple times. When a Bomb symbol explodes, it activates the surrounding area. The Cannon shoots and activates a random number of squares. The Compass shoots in a straight line, activating symbols. These special symbols can also change symbols into multipliers or increase the values of already-present multipliers.
It wasn’t long before I was able to trigger the bonus round. It’s refreshing to see a bonus game that’s so different to the base game. The special symbols don’t just keep the game engaging; they also provide you with a lot of opportunities to win big. I was lucky enough to come away with a really big haul.

The RTP is 96.1%, and the volatility is medium/high. Given these stats, I was very impressed by the game’s win potential. The low-pay symbols aren’t super valuable, but the high pays can yield some massive returns. Then you throw into the mix the respins, doubling multipliers and the 243 win ways… It’s not hard to hit big wins in the base game.
The bonus round didn’t seem particularly difficult to trigger, either. And once you’re there, thanks to the special features and the resetting spins, you should see plenty of opportunities to win big.
At 10,000x, the max win is pretty big for a game of this nature. That said, I don’t know how often players might be lucky enough to trigger it. This slot plays much more like one which yields frequent wins, decent wins, but not massive wins.
The setting is a bird’s-eye view of what looks like a mediaeval town. The symbols of the grid are laid on top of a wooden deck with a moat around it, and there’s a stone wall around that.
The designers have done a good job of making everything clear. At the bottom of the screen, you can see how much you’ve accumulated on each spin, which is a nice little feature, considering how big a single win can get when the multipliers kick in.
Although the overall design is cartoonish and simple, the graphics are detailed and the animations are really smooth. The whimsical music sounds right out of a Tim Burton film. It’s fun and not too repetitive. Overall, the game looks and sounds great, and that goes for whether you play on desktop or mobile.
I can highly recommend Bone Raiders, without question! It’s got a highly engaging base game and bonus round. There are lots of different ways to hit wins, and in true Relax Gaming style, it looks and sounds great.
