Bass Boss Review
When people think of fishing slots, they immediately think of Blueprint Gaming's Fishin' Frenzy or Pragmatic Play's Big Bass Bonanza. However, there is a new fisherman in town with Red Tiger Gaming's Bass Boss.
Just like those other slots, this game plays on 5-reels with 10 paylines and features a progressive free spins round - but there are loads of modifiers to keep players even more engaged with Bass Boss. See if you can reel in the biggest wins with Bass Boss.
Design
Sadly, it is always implied that fishing slots tend to look a little tacky with outdated graphics. This is not the case with Bass Boss as the visuals are quite charming and the fisherman seems like a fun and ordinary guy.
At the top of the reels, he is animated and often looks like he is trying to fall asleep aside from the random modifier moments where he wakes up to catch a fish. Under the water, there are bubbles, rushing waves and fish swimming which really brings the slot to life.
Throughout spins, there is an Americana score that plays which really builds up the atmosphere and makes it feel like you are fishing in the good old USA.
Gameplay
As previously mentioned, strangely enough, the gameplay in this slot is quite different to most other fishing slots. There are modifiers throughout the base game and this slot does not just rely on the free spins round.
At the bottom of the screen, players will find the spin button followed by the bet level. To the left of these, there is a paytable and a help section which will help any players struggling.
Win Potential
In terms of the win potential, Bass Boss is slightly disappointing with the base game as the RTP is 95.70% followed by a high volatility level. This amount is usually accepted with a progressive jackpot or a huge win - but the base game has neither.
The biggest win that players can get throughout the base game is 4,835x the stake that can be achieved through the free spins round. It's worth mentioning that the Red Tiger Jackpot is available in this slot but only at certain slot sites - so check beforehand.
Our Verdict
With all of the gameplay and the overall design, Bass Boss stands out against other fishing slots as a true contender. Of course, the lack of a huge win in the base game and lower RTP is underwhelming but this will be made up for at some slot sites with the jackpot.
Ultimately, this is one Red Tiger Gaming slot that is worth giving a spin as you'll never know what sort of catch you'll reel in but it'll certainly be one that is thoroughly entertaining.
