African Elephant Review
There are many games in this genre and while the majority try their hardest, they do miss the mark on occasion.
However, it feels like Pragmatic Play’s attempt is one of the few that didn't quite give it 100%. We have seen some incredible creations from this studio over the years but this one isn't going to go down as a memorable classic.
You could close your eyes and picture the scene without loading African Elephant up on your screen. Your mental image of an African plain with animals acting as symbols and plenty of djembe drums swinging along in the background would be spot on.
There's nothing wrong with the design and it looks just as good on tablets and mobiles as well, but Pragmatic Play hasn't gone the extra mile on this occasion.
Making your way from the base game to the bonus round is a familiar journey as you wait for at least 3 scatter symbols to land. The addition of the Wild Shape feature will help break things up occasionally but with such high volatility, don't expect to see too many distractions along the way.
The winning potential of African Elephant is one thing that we really cannot argue with; 15,000x is a magnificent payout for those lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. High volatility means your bankroll will be trampled on by those hefty beasts, so budget carefully for this adventure.
Perhaps we have been a little overly critical on this occasion and had this slot been produced by one of the smaller studios, we might have been more forgiving.
Unfortunately, Pragmatic Play has such an amazing reputation to live up to that any slots they produce that are fairly average are going to get a bit of a hammering from the critics.
