No one ever complained about a flexible payline structure where a minimum of five symbols could score rewards. As long as these fairy tale images are touching horizontally or vertically, you could get yourself up to 1,000x for a simple cluster. Each of these fairies has its own multiplying power, and you'll see all of this come to fruition during the bonus.
As you know, a minimum of five matching symbols is required to score a prize, and the highest of the lot is worth between 2x and 1000x. Big wilds can step in and help out with three times the power as they cover three rows and can land on up to three reels.
The wild meter gets filled up with the symbols found in each cluster pays win, and at certain points, wild symbols get added as a reward.
Each time a fairy scatter symbol lands, or should I say lunar princess, there's a chance that the Link & Merge feature can trigger. Coin symbols will offer a random value, and when they land, they lock. The value of these coins get together at the end of the feature to give you your overall win.
It all begins with three spins, and each time a coin symbol lands, these reset. If five or more coin symbols link together, they merge into a single symbol and the sums are added together.
Once the coins are merged, the three princesses come into their own with the first one leaving behind the 2x multiplier grid, and these can upgrade up to 1,024x as wins merge. The next can leave multipliers worth up to 10x with a super version giving you between 3x and 15x. Finally, there is Marina, and during each spin, if merges take place, then the multiplier will increase up to 100x. In the super version, this can be up to 200x.
Players outside the UK can buy one of the standard free spin features for 34.50x and get all of them involved for 150x.
Each time a cluster pays win takes place, the winning symbols are then sent off to the meter, and this begins to fill. Once you get to certain points along the meter, you trigger some wild activity with a standard wild symbol being added to the reels.
Any of the three main characters can trigger this feature, and they all have their own benefits. They’re centred around multipliers, and the rest of the game requires coin symbols with random prizes landing to reset your respins. One of the most powerful is the lunar trigger with multiplier grid upgrades worth up to 1,024x.
Due to the medium volatility, you could see some reasonable wins coming your way to keep your balance looking happy from time to time, and you might even see a few larger ones as well that can push your total up towards the 10,000x max win. In my experience, it wasn't surprising to see that most of the bankroll boosting activity takes place during the bonus features with those multiplier figures starting to upgrade and improve the returns.
The princesses float to the side of the reels, and they look after proceedings taking place on the large 6x6 grid. The game area takes up most of the screen, and the heavenly background is kind of overlooked on your laptop, mobile and other devices. Strangely, it does feel a little dated due to these graphics, but the floaty soundtrack may well please some players.
It doesn't feel like Luna Princess Link&Merge took a long time to put together, and all of these design elements, features and everything else have all been done before by this developer. It feels a little like an interim slot that's perhaps buying time for something more special to come along in the near future. It's still worth a spin though, and if you can get those multiplier figures coming together with the range of princess modifications, then you might be in for a special win.
