A lucky player from Newcastle won £5.4m at Betfred

“Thought it must have been a mistake,” says Clark
Michael Clark is just an everyday man from Newcastle who works at a minimum wage job at a mental health unit, whilst his partner, Sherelle, works as a carer for her grandmother. Both grew up on a council estate and worked hard to build a life together.
After finding nothing to watch on television, Clark decided to play on King Kong Cashpots with Sherelle by his side. He said that he was playing the game for about 20 to 30 minutes and just kept on winning.
Clark said: “We thought it must have been a mistake at first, and then we started hugging each other when we realised it was real. I just couldn’t stop crying, and there was no way I was going to go to sleep that night having won such an enormous amount of money."

With his winnings, Clark plans to take a break from work whilst treating his family. He wants to start by replacing Sherelle's engagement ring and then work towards planning a grand wedding reception as well as a honeymoon to Jamaica.
Alongside this, he plans to upgrade his wardrobe, buy season tickets for Newcastle United, buy a new Tesla car and purchase his “forever home in the countryside” with Sherelle.
In response to the win, Clark said: “what a start we’ve had to 2023. I’m absolutely determined that we don’t waste the money, so that not just us but the next generations of our family can also flourish.”
