With its typical blue and white design, Ze Zeus doesn’t particularly stand out from any of the other Greek god slots out there. That said, Zeus himself cuts a fine figure, floating proudly next to the game grid, thunderbolt in hand. Inexplicably, Hacksaw has given Zeus blue transparent arms, which isn’t something I remember from the books I read in school. But it does at least differentiate this particular Zeus from the countless others that appear in the slots universe.
The symbols in the game are bold and bright but, ultimately, rather forgettable. I liked the soundtrack, and the light plucking of the bouzouki gives the game a relaxing, all-inclusive-Cretian-holiday kind of vibe. The bonus games get a bit more frantic with a darker colour scheme and more energetic music.
Overall, I had a lot of fun with Ze Zeus. The Ancient Greece theme has been done to death, and the design of this game doesn’t quite do enough to really stand out from the scores of other slots in this genre. That said, the special symbols and features, as well as 3 independent bonus rounds, will ensure you remember this slot long after you’ve played it.
