Lightning Box has chosen to go down the route of the bizarre and surreal. At times, this method can be a huge hit but occasionally, it just seems a little confusing and disjointed. We love the addition of tornados removing symbols and whisking cows off to increase multipliers.
But we cannot work out why the jackpot game needed to be so random. There are many fun elements that could be added to a desert island-themed bonus round. And in our opinion, zooming everything into orbit was a bit of a fail. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you might just love it.
Visually, there isn't an awful lot going on during the base game with a fairly lacklustre background and the reels set into a simplistic collection of bamboo. When the tornado hits, it does showcase the designers’ skills with some clever animation and a change of setting.
The background noise is quite therapeutic, and you could easily leave this game running in the background just to provide some welcome mood music.
