Rainbow Burst Review
I'm going to say it straight off the bat, I do not trust this creepy-looking leprechaun as far as I could throw him. He looks sinister and that's putting it mildly. However, he does seem to be in charge of dishing out a good amount of gold coins and that's all that really matters, I guess. Hopefully, you'll make your way to the end of the rainbow and take everything he's got before running away as fast as you possibly can!
Design
My little leprechaun friend dances away to some typically upbeat Celtic music and even though I don't care for this creature, he is cutting some amusing shapes up there on the top of this hill.
The rainbow extends across the reels and the 2 chests are always enticing as they begin to fill up with each blast of the rainbow. It is entirely stereotypical but Rainbow Burst is a good-looking game that produces some decent visual effects on all devices, including mobile phones.
Gameplay
There’s enough going on during the base game to keep you more than satisfied while you hit the spin button—the stacks of Rainbow symbols plus the chance to trigger one of those jackpots should do the trick. The additional respin, which can come with a few extra quid courtesy of the leprechaun’s pot, is also a welcome add-on. Obviously, the bigger wins are more readily available throughout the bonus game thanks to the increasing stacks of Rainbow symbols and the much larger jackpot prizes.
Win Potential
Some lucky players might be able to achieve the top 5,000x payout that Rainbow Burst has to offer. The medium volatility came as a bit of a surprise and the max 96.15% RTP isn't bad either. However, you should check out this figure before you play as it can go as low as 86.90% in some places.
Our Verdict
Admittedly, I approached Rainbow Burst with a certain amount of scepticism. We've been here a million times before with Irish-themed slots and I was pretty sure that my heart would sink with the first touch of the spin button. However, my fears were unfounded and Nailed It Games has done a fine job. It won't get top marks as the design just isn't quite there and the max payout is a little small to be a contender for a top slot. But don't let those things put you off though as you can still enjoy a decent session with this game.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
