Pyramyth Review
There are literally hundreds of Egyptian slots available across the internet, and it's only natural that some of them begin to blend into one. Thunderkick decided to do something utterly different with the genre and try to shake it up with a futuristic theme thrown in with their online slot Pyramyth.
The set-up of this slot is simple as it plays on 5-reels with 15 paylines, but it's shaken up with the unique science-fiction design. Throughout Pyramyth, you'll find free spins, multipliers, sticky respins and roaming wilds to help you win the maximum win of 15,000x your stake.
Design
As the slot opens up, you'll immediately notice the quirky style. Surrounding the reels, there's a futuristic statue of Horus with a gold trim surrounding him - but it also has blue lights coming from the stomach and eyes with a glare. This little detail makes the statue look more of a cyborg instead and definitely sets the tone for the slot.
There are normal moments such as the clouds moving in the sky, but then you'll notice upside-down pyramids floating in the sky to add to the bizarre visuals. Underneath the reels, there's the river mile with various palm trees and buildings around that are a mix of ancient Egypt and technology.
The symbols on the reels are the typical playing card numbers along with various Egyptian gods. These gods look traditional on the surface, that is until you get closer and see the orbs on their faces which add a science fiction element. Activating free spins, will turn the sky to nighttime and will light up the city to make it look more like a bustling city in the future.
Unsurprisingly, the music is a quintessential ancient Egypt theme with chanting, lutes and drums but adds a futuristic flair with synthesiser sounds.
Gameplay
Pyramyth has a standard gameplay format that plays with 5-reels and 15 paylines. On top of that, the features are easy to follow meaning that you can basically pick up and play this game if you have the bankroll to sustain yourself.
To the right of the reels, you'll notice the spin button, bet level and autospin button at the bottom of the screen. If you journey further to the left, then you'll notice the sound setting and further menus such as paylines.
Win Potential
The RTP of Pyramyth is decent at 96.17% and has a high volatility level - meaning that you can expect less frequent returns but big wins when they do. In terms of the maximum win, you can win up to 15,000x your stake during the free spins round with the multipliers and sticky respins.
This slot has great win potential due to the maximum payout, RTP and features. During 200 spins on demo mode, we managed to trigger the free spins round 4 different times and delivered some decent wins with this.
Our Verdict
Pyramyth is simple but in the best way possible. There are no confusing gimmicks and the slot just contains entertaining mechanics. On the surface, the visuals may look minimalistic, but there's a huge amount of detail hidden away and it's refreshing to see.
If you love amazing payouts of up to 15,000x your stake mixed with engaging gameplay, then Pyramyth is one to check out. At the end of the day, it's just good, clean fun!
