Piggy Blitz Review
If you’ve always dreamt of taking part in a game show hosted by a porcine presenter, then you’re in luck—hopefully in more ways than one. Piggy Blitz from Play’n GO offers players a chance to win up to 5,000x and to get there, you'll need to land wins across 4096 win ways and try your hardest to trigger the Blitz Spins round as often as possible.
Design
The setting looks like that of a 90’s quiz show. In keeping with the visuals, there are some typical corny jazz jingles to awkwardly groove to, but they’re quite tolerable. Even though the images are quite cartoonish, the graphics are decent with lots of bright colours and smooth animations. The game is also good at building tension, most noticeably when 2 Scatter symbols fall and the camera zooms in as the remaining reels spin. Will a third drop and grant you access to the Blitz Spins round?
Gameplay
This is definitely a slot for gamers who are after something simple. The features are quite limited, so anyone looking for something a bit more complex might soon find themselves getting bored. Fans of Cash symbols will probably be kept happy, though. The Blitz Spins bonus round, for example, is all about seeing how many Cash symbols you land.
Win Potential
The RTP of 96.25% isn’t too bad, nor is the max win of 5000x, especially considering the fact you can bet up to £100 per spin. That being said, due to the lack of features, play can drag on, which might make you feel like your next win is far off. With respect to filling your pockets, the bonus round also leaves a lot to be desired, given that access to the more valuable Major and Mega Cash symbols depends on how many Scatter symbols you landed to trigger the round.
My Verdict
Given the glitz and glamour of the game’s introduction, I was looking forward to playing Piggy Blitz. After a while, though, the novelty of the slightly average presentation wore off and I was left feeling underwhelmed by the gameplay and the features. I’d recommend this to players who are looking for something easy to do today with a chance to land some fairly decent prizes.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
