You might be thinking that Pragmatic Play is stuck in a bit of a loop when it comes to slots recently. There's a lot of standard free spins bonus action added to some regular paylines but in this game, they've decided to push the limits.
With five reels and three rows, you can land wins in 243 ways as long as matching symbols fall on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The lowest payers are the royal symbols and these will fail to return your bet amount. In fact, most of the symbols struggle to push your balance above water and you'll need a lot of the highest paying symbols to give you up to 5x.
There are three different wild symbols doing the rounds and these could help pick up some bigger wins but thanks to the high volatility, you might not want to hold your breath for too long. A lot of the payouts will come courtesy of the instant cash prizes and these are golden coins which display random cash values worth up to 1,500x or one of the jackpots which could pay up to 10,000x. These coins are collected when the collect symbol lands on reel one and the coin symbols appear on adjacent reels, starting from reel two.
There are three bonus games available and two of them are heavily dependent on a wheel of fortune. The first is the upgrade feature and this happens when a purple wild symbol randomly triggers the feature. A wheel spins and the awards are upgraded up to 1,000 times and then you see the wheel spin again and provide you with a prize.
The green wild can trigger the extra feature where you have up to three pointers that allocate three prizes from the fortune wheel. Finally, there is a re-spins bonus which offers up to 50 free plays and you get a collect symbol covering the first reel with only cash prizes available to drop on the rest of the game area.
A combination of all of the above features is possible. Players outside the UK can head straight into the respins bonus for 50x and if they'd like to see all of the bonuses trigger at the same time, it will cost 100x.
Cash symbols represent values worth between 10x and 1,500x can land at any point. Also, there are jackpots worth up to 10,000x that can be displayed on the symbols. Collect symbols will appear on reel one and any cash symbols that are on adjacent reels, connected to the first reel, will be awarded.
The purple wild symbol can trigger this feature and you'll see a wheel of fortune with various cash amounts and award names. The various sections of the wheel get upgraded with random amounts but the jackpots can't receive this boost. Upgrades are worth up to 1000x the original amount before the wheel spins and stops offering you a prize.
The extra feature uses between one and three pointers to help stop the wheel of fortune on up to three different prizes. The prizes below the pointers are sent to your balance and are yours to keep. You can trigger this feature and the upgrade feature at the same time from the base game and respins bonus.
Triggering the respins bonus requires the red wild symbol. You will see a wheel containing a number of respins and this ranges between 5 and 50. The first reel is full of collect symbols and you'll only see blanks and money symbols land throughout the bonus. A random multiplier is also applied to the cash symbols. You can play a mix of this bonus and the other two as well.
Picking up a big win doesn't only come by way of the jackpot prizes – you can see some pretty decent payouts landing thanks to the other instant cash coins too. I wasn't lucky enough to see any huge rewards entering my balance but I'm pretty sure the high volatility will kick out a few big payments every so often. The 10,000x max win would feel a little unrealistic if it weren't for the Grand prize that might drop during one of the features or as part of the standard cash collect system.
You get a very attractive view of the Nile with the desert rolling off into the distance and a couple of pyramids to enjoy. The soundtrack is typically Egyptian and doesn't push any boundaries in any respect. There’s quite a lot going on and Pragmatic has done well to fit everything into this game area without creating a bit of a mess in the process. It looks good on desktop, laptop and mobile screens.
It's nice to see Pragmatic Play trying something a little different and I appreciate the addition of all of these features, as I'm sure you will too. A couple of the bonuses are admittedly a little similar but they can provide big wins and help break up the base game spins.
The bonus round can take quite a while, depending on your number of respins, which should be to the game's advantage as it makes it feel like you’re being entertained rather than the slot trying to grab your cash from you. It's not a bad effort at all and I'd recommend giving Mummy's Jewels a couple of spins.
