Design

We'll be honest, there are many nicer looking slot games out there, but when you remember that this game was released way back in 2009 it's not hard to appreciate Mega Fortune for what it is. 

The most impressive element of this game for us is the jazzy soundtrack that plays throughout, there aren't too many slots that have us dancing in our chairs (other than maybe a handful of music-themed slots such as Rock the Cash Bar and Sonic Reels) but this one did!

The diamond game reels sit in front of a luxury palm-tree lined marina where a speedboat sits, perhaps it's Monte Carlo, or maybe it's Los Angeles' Marina del Ray? Either way, it's snazzy! On the reels, we have four jewel-encrusted rings with J, Q, K, A as low paying symbols and a cigar and whiskey, Rolex watch, pile of cash and a stretch limo as high paying symbols. Special symbols include a bottle of champagne for the scatter, a speedboat for the wild and a wheel-of-fortune for the bonus symbol.

Gameplay

This game has all of the hallmarks of a classic NetEnt slot. There's a semi-transparent action bar along the bottom of the game screen featuring a number of olive green buttons that can be used to change game settings and spin the reels. 

On the left-hand side of the action bar is the information button that gives players access to the paytable and bonus information, the bet level button and the autoplay button that allows players to set up to 100 automated spins. On the right-hand side of the game reels there's a max bet button, a coin value button that allows players to set their coin value (not stake) between 0.01 and 0.50. In the centre is the spin button that's surrounded by yes, you guessed it! Even more jewels.

It's also pretty important that players pay attention to the top of the reels, here there are three progressive jackpot trackers that follow the three-tiered Mega Jackpot. These display the current value of the Rapid Jackpot, Major Jackpot and the HUGE Mega jackpot.

Our Verdict 

This classic NetEnt slot might not be able to hold a candle to other games when it comes to design and bonus features in this day and age, but that doesn't make it any less impressive in our eyes. Any progressive jackpot slot that can give players the opportunity to win millions of pounds on a single spin is enough to get us playing!
