Love it or hate it, there's no getting away from this raccoon, and this time, he's here to snatch some festive treats from Santa's collection pot as he hangs around in the snow dressed up as an angry little elf.
We simply need to select your bet, and this can be anywhere between 0.10 and 50. Once you've done that, hit the spin button and hope that at least 5 matching symbols land in a cluster on the grid. The top payout is worth up to 100x and wild symbols can also appear.
Winning symbols are removed from the game, and that means that new symbols will drop in to fill the spaces. As this happens, golden squares are left behind in the places where winning symbols once were. If a rainbow lands at the same time, it will activate the golden squares, and if an epic rainbow lands, it will turn the entire grid into a reveal feature.
4 types of coins will bring you instant cash prizes worth up to 500x, and clovers will multiply those payouts. Santa's sack will collect wins, and FS symbols will take you to the free spins bonus.
The base game mechanics continue as you move into the bonus game, and to get here, you need at least 3 FS symbols. Alternatively, you might find yourself playing outside the UK and want to pay 60x to head straight there.
Once things get moving, you'll realise that the golden squares are progressive and remain on the grid until a rainbow symbol activates them. Rainbows transform into gift symbols, and the gift bar will move through various levels to bring you clovers and sacks!
4 FS symbols will get you something similar, but now the golden squares stay where they are even once they've been activated. The Epic bonus will start you off at level 4 with some guaranteed rainbows on each spin.
These squares are a key part of any game in this series, and they appear once winning symbols have been removed from the grid. If a rainbow symbol appears at the same time, then those squares will be turned into cash prizes. If an epic rainbow lands, then all positions on the grid become a prize.
Between 3 and 5 FS symbols are enough to take you off to play 10 free spins, and everything stays fairly similar apart from a couple of slight changes. The gold squares remain on the screen until they're activated, and you have 4 levels to move through as rainbow symbols are converted into gifts. These gifts are clovers and Santa's sack!
The game states that the max win of 15,000 times your base bet can drop at any point, but I've never seen any game in this series produce a top payout from the regular spins. You need to move into the bonus game, in my opinion, and if you can make it to the Epic hidden bonus, then that would be your best opportunity to see the incredible results that you're hoping for.
Nothing much changes in the design department, and as expected, Smokey the raccoon is disguised in something festive to keep him out of harm's way. His mission is probably to steal all of Santa's presents, and perhaps nick a little cash from his tip jar. Candlelight provides a little ambience from the toadstool houses, and no one should have any problems with the cute setup.
There isn't much here to separate Le Gift Grabber from any other game in the series, but you do have those epic rainbows that may produce instant cash wins all over the grid. I love a festive Christmas slot with a solid set of features, so I'm going to say you should check this one out!
