Halloween Luck Review
If you thought you knew slots, get ready to think again! There’s only one symbol that can land with any spin of Halloween Luck, and there’s nothing you can do to influence what it will be. But you definitely have a choice when it comes to cashing in your winnings!
Climb the Prize Towers, watch your prize total grow in the Cashpot, and decide whether to wait for it to increase, or cash it in before it disappears. This is interactive slots action as you’ve never seen it before!
Design
The setting for Halloween Luck is a graveyard at night, which has the potential to be spooky - but not when it’s been designed with such a strong emphasis on fun. Candles flicker and a curious owl and bat look on as ghosts float upwards from the gravestones.
Bats fly around during the free spins bonus, adding some extra excitement to the proceedings.
It’s a fun approach to the Halloween theme and one that works extremely well. The accompanying sounds and music add extra atmosphere, although you’ll probably be too focussed on the spinning action to notice!
Gameplay
Halloween Luck is such a simple game to play that you’re sure to get the hang of it within just a few spins. Simply decide how much to wager, then hit the Spin button. Symbols need to land fully in view to become active, and there are only a few of them, making it easy to follow.
Spin up sweets
Colourful sweets in red, purple and green each come with a corresponding Prize Tower. Every sweet symbol advances you one level on that symbol’s Tower, highlighting the win amount. The total is added to the Cashpot, which sits alongside the single reel.
Watch out for the modifiers!
At any time, you can choose to Collect the contents of your Cashpot, which will be transferred to your game balance. The trick is to assess whether you can keep adding to your Cashpot, or whether the Pumpkin will land and make its contents disappear.
But although the Pumpkin isn’t on your side, the Witch is! She acts as a substitute for all of the sweets, advancing you one level up each Prize Tower. And there’s a Ghost, who awards 3 free spins with a guarantee of no Pumpkins for the duration. There’s even a Magic Potion, which you can use to deactivate a Pumpkin – so use it wisely!
Win potential
This may be a simple game to play, but it comes with some high volatility. Anyone can give it a spin though, as the wagering options will attract everyone from penny slots fans to high rollers. Potential returns for hitting the top tier of the Prize Towers are as follows:
- Green-striped sweets = 10x
- Red and white stars = 50x
- Purple and white candies = 350x
The top payout is displayed above the Prize Towers and comes in at 500x your bet. To achieve that win you’ll have triggered each of the top Tower payouts too, bringing your total win to a cool 1,620x. You can keep on retriggering the top Prize Tower payouts with further spins, but the top prize payout of 500x is only paid out once.
Our Verdict
It’s fair to say that there’s not always a crossover between magical slots and Halloween-themed games, but Halloween Luck manages it extremely successfully. And that makes it a game that can be enjoyed at any time of year, not just during the autumn months.
We found this apparently simple little game to be surprisingly enthralling. The ability to control exactly when to claim the contents of your Cashpot gives a welcome interactive element – just keep an eye on your balance, and set out a limit for your spinning session so you don’t get carried away – trust us, it’s easily done!
