Gemix 2 Review
It's time to journey back to the mystical world of Gemix but this time with an even bigger impact. Developed by Play'n GO, Gemix 2 sees the return of Cluster Pays mixed with various gems and kingdoms to unlock the mighty payouts. As a direct sequel to Gemix, Gemix 2 brings back the Princess, Wizard and Miner along with another hero figure.
The biggest changes in this slot come from the upgraded Crystal Charge and World Patterns with the upgrade of features meaning that you can now win up to 7,500x your stake!
You begin off your journey in the clouds at the hero's place with floating castles in the sky. There is more life and animation to this background as there are various birds and creatures floating in the sky. The design of the castle and world is impressive looking straight out of a popular storybook. Similarly, the gem symbols on the reels have a cutesy look that fits in with the style that they are trying to convey.
In terms of the music, it's a little grander as it starts in the hero world. It remains in line with the Final Fantasy theme as it combines the whimsical aspects mixed with battle music. Gemix 2 definitely feels like a roleplaying videogame in terms of aesthetics.
This slot uses the Cluster Pays mechanics that means that it doesn't follow traditional paylines as you can match at least 5 symbols for a win. All the needed menus are at the bottom of the screen with the spin button at the bottom of the screen. To the left of this, you'll find the autospin, bet level and general paytable.
Gemix 2 is a high volatility slot with an RTP of 96.20% which is just above the average. In terms of maximum payout, you can see wins of up to 7,500x your stake by using the multipliers and matching 15 or more stars on the reels.
Whilst the first Gemix is iconic in terms of the vibrant gameplay and design, Gemix 2 definitely improves a lot. All of the features from the original are back but with even bigger payoffs for more wins. It's almost like the upgraded version of the slot and that's exactly what you want in a sequel.
The bigger payout of a 7,500x stake is much better and more acceptable for an online slot. It may not be something earth-shattering, but it's a decent amount that should keep players happy. If you like Cluster Pays mixed with fantasy slots, then this is one to try out.
