I don't mind a bit of slot-spinning action down on the farm and Iron Dog seems happy to provide the necessary hardware. You've got a 5x3 setup with a randomly triggering respin game and there are some free spins thrown in there as well. Watch out for some expanding symbols and wilds that could add to your wins.
Want to see some big symbol wins? Well, you've come to the right place. Even the royal symbols can fetch a hefty stack with a matching group of three providing a 0.5x payout. Kings and aces will also provide 10x for a five-of-a-kind win. Moving on to the hay bale, you can see 40x for a max group of these and then the chickens will get you 50x. Sheep pay 100x and the farm hand with extremely small hands pays 500x.
Wild symbols will also get you 500x and these will substitute for all others from the list mentioned above. You get 10 paylines to play with and wins must start on the leftmost reel. It's a fairly standard setup with some decent-paying symbols.
You can improve upon these wins but you will need a couple of scatter symbols to land in order to do so. When two scatters hit the reels, a respin game begins and up to nine symbols are chosen to sit in the display box. If one of these symbols hits during the respin, they'll expand to create wins where possible and could provide you with a decent payout.
Three or more scatter symbols will get you between 8 and 12 free spins and the action is fairly similar, but there is a small twist. The display area is empty and it's not until you land a win that the relevant symbol appears on the display. It can then act as an expanding symbol as it did in the respin bonus. It may take you a fair while to reach either of the bonus games as I found the scatter symbols to be a little shy. You might have better luck than I did, but I was quite content with the regular payouts provided by these powerful symbols.
I couldn't find any mention of a direct buy-in for jurisdictions outside the UK but I imagine it will be possible in certain areas.
2 scatters will trigger this fun mini-game with up to 9 symbols chosen to sit on the display panel. If these chosen symbols hit the reels, they expand to create wins where possible.
3–5 scatters award up to 12 free spins and the panel is empty at the start. Each win sends a unique symbol to the panel to become the subject of the stretching action mentioned in the respin feature.
Thanks to the high volatility, you might need to weather the storm as your balance starts heading south for a while. This is fairly standard and there could be a big win just around the corner. I found myself down by 40x on a few occasions but a few four-of-a-kind wins started to help out eventually. If you're lucky enough to hit two scatter symbols, then you could be in for a financial boost but it isn't guaranteed that any of the chosen symbols are going to create a win, unfortunately. It becomes more likely during the free spins game and obviously the more spins, the better. The max win is a respectable 5,500x and the RTP is 96%.
I'm pretty sure I've seen all of these graphics before on various other farmyard slots. It's nothing out of the ordinary and it feels like a bit of a drag-and-drop set-up. It's nice enough and you get a little animation from the chicken to the foreground. Don't expect miracles from this game but you can pick up the action on your mobile phone if you like. It's bright enough and the colours are vibrant, so you shouldn't have too many complaints. The music is fun to tap your feet to for a while but it is a fairly short loop and will get on your nerves eventually.
If you love farmyard-based slots and can't get enough of roosters, sheep and cows, then you're in good company with Farming Frenzy. It might not be packed full of features that trigger regularly but the basic wins provided by these symbols are better than many other slots. It's probably worth a few spins just to see if you pick it up at the right time but if you find yourself stuck in that high volatility loop, then you might want to move on.
