Beast Below Review
We have no idea why sirens get such a bad rap! The only intention they appear to have in this game is to bring you a bucket load of cash, where possible, and help you haul it to shore to spend as frivolously as you wish.
Design
Athletically, we weren't entirely jazzed by the way the reels are set in the foreground of this watery cove with the remaining part of the scene stretching into the horizon. However, after a couple of minutes, we started to quite like it and appreciate that the design team has done a very good job on Beast Below. It also looks very good on mobile screens for both Apple and Android products with no loss of quality experienced by either side.
There are several animated touches to enjoy including the little swaying fishing boat with what appears to be a Kraken sprawled out on the deck. The soundtrack is menacing and interspersed with sonar sounds that give the whole production a special kind of dark ambience.
Game Play
It is possible to hit the biggest wins at any point during the game according to Hacksaw Gaming. However, we imagine that the biggest payouts are only likely to arrive during the free spins features. You can wait it out and enjoy the occasional yellow siren during the base game or go directly there via the Bonus Buy if you are outside the UK.
Win Potential
10,000x is there for the taking but remember that the medium-high volatility will continue to increase throughout the various feature elements of this game—the free spins bonuses are rated as very high. The RTP will also change according to the area of the game you are playing with the overall figure averaging out at 96.29%.
Our Verdict
Beast Below got off to a bit of a slow start but once we started to appreciate the intricate design elements, the slightly monotonous base game was actually quite fun to watch. Undoubtedly, the majority of the excitement and big wins are reserved for the bonus games so try and make your way there ASAP if possible.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
