Before you get to the bonus game, you need to build up some enhancers to make it worth your while. Scatter symbols land with enhancers overlaid and they either add to the bonus spins, multiplier or prizes.
Scatter symbols land very frequently and when you least expect it, fire will appear across the reels and you get to play for free. The enhancers that you've built up now start to unfold and the easiest to understand is the bonus spins enhancer as this tells you how many spins you get!
It isn't a regular free spins game – you're watching eggs spinning rather than reels. Eggs that don't have a prize might suddenly create one and your bonus multiplier is applied to one of the prizes on the grid.

Admittedly, the volatility has got much higher since the original game hit our screens nearly 5 years ago but I still found that wins were quite regular despite this stat. Base game symbols payout quite extraordinary prizes compared to many other slots and these can accumulate some very handy wins. Add this together to the x2 wild multipliers and you can see the potential bursting out of every crevice!
The setup feels a little crisper than before, even though many of the elements have carried over from the original. Before, you had a blurry image in the background whereas now you're inside the castle watching the dragon's egg hopefully bursting into life. The main character symbols haven't been adjusted from before but to be honest, they didn't need a makeover.
There's a lot more going on in this version and you’ll probably need to take a moment or two just to figure out what all these individual prizes and meters are alluding to. Just remember that the bonus multiplier, prizes and spins are all enhancers for your bonus game and the egg below them, whilst it looks like it's ready to burst each time a scatter symbol lands, isn't an indicator as to when the bonus game will erupt.
Smaller mobile screens are able to cope with the creation pretty well but I did experience a little lag on my laptop as I played this game in full-screen mode.
Age of Conquest Diamonds & Dragons certainly feels like a step up from the first game that Neon Valley Studios offered us. You can see how the studio has evolved over the years and what they've come up with is a feature-rich slot with great win potential. It does have a typical Games Global feel to it, but there are enough personalised elements here to help set it apart from the thousands of other games in this developer’s repertoire.
