777 Royal Wheel
Microgaming has called upon one of their smaller partner studios Pulse 8 Studios to create a unique Vegas-themed slot that revolves around the highly lucrative wild wheel that can turn random symbols into multiplier wilds ahead of re-spins.
This high volatility 5-reel, 25 payline slot has plenty to offer, standing out amongst the crowd in part thanks to its glitzy vegas-style bonus features and mechanics, that will easily make you forget about the lack of free spins.
Design
This game is glamour personified. The reels are set upon a golden vegas-style slot machine with a slowly rotating wheel of fortune perched on top. Behind the reels is a shiny gold wall, flanked either side by heavy red drapes. It's all made to look like a high-stakes Vegas casino.
Low-value symbols are your standard royal deck 10, J, Q, K, A and your high-value symbols as follows: A single 7, two 7's, three 7's and a crown symbol that also acts as a wild.
The music is what we can only describe as generic elevator music, the whole set up is a little bit tacky, but there's certainly nothing wrong with that, we can't turn our nose up at a bit of over the top extravagance.
Gameplay
The action bar in 777 Royal Wheel is split up into individual panels. From left to right you have a panel that's home to the game settings and paytable, a bet value panel (that can see players set their bet between 0.25 and 75), a spin panel that can see players sit the bet to the max and set up to 100 automated spins.
It's hard not to take notice of the spinning wheel-of-fortune that sits just above the reels. During base gameplay it will spin slowly doing nothing in particular, however, a winning combination will sometimes trigger the wheel, causing it to spin quickly before slowing down and landing on a symbol, turning it wild for the duration of the following re-spins.
Win Potential
Sadly, for such an interesting game with unique mechanics, we're disappointed to see that 777 Royal Wheel isn't that great as far as win potential goes. This high volatility slot has a below-average RTP of 94.4% and players can only win a maximum of 3,133x their stake, which seems a little bit low for a modern game released in 2020.
Our Verdict
777 Royal Wheel genuinely has a lot of potential, if you like games that don't follow conventional slot norms then we think you'll like this one. We love the fact that matching symbols turn sticky for re-spins, and we love the Wild Wheel. Unfortunately, it's pretty tough to look past the low win potential and very poor RTP.
