The slot developers are working to improve Life on Land
Ultimately, Quickspin aligns with several of the sustainable development goals adopted by all United Nations (UN) members to help the planet and support number 15 on the list: Life on Land.
What are the 17 goals of the UN?
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has 17 goals that were announced in 2015. These include:
- No Poverty
- Zero Hunger
- Good Health and Wellbeing
- Quality Education
- Gender Equality
- Clean Water and Sanitation
- Affordable and Clean Energy
- Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
- Reduced Inequalities
- Sustainable City and Communities
- Responsible Consumption and Production
- Climate Action
- Life Below Water
- Life on Land
- Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
- Partnership for the Goals
Working with Viskogen, a nonprofit Swedish organisation fighting poverty and climate change, Quickspin is working on the 'Life on Land' goal highlighted by the UN.
Planting trees with Viskogen
Since 2019, the developers have been working with Viskogen and have planted trees in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania.
For each new employee, a tree is planted and they have donated an extra 250 trees in 2020 and 5,000 trees in 2021. These trees provide enormous benefits for the communities such as food, job opportunities and shadow from sunlight.
“Something we care deeply about,” says Quickpin
“At Quickspin, Corporate Social Responsibility is something we care deeply about, and we have a strong focus on many of the sustainable development goals adopted by all United Nations members,” said Matilda Boman, People Partner at Quickspin. “By planting trees together with Viskogen, we help fight poverty and improve the environment in several countries in eastern Africa.”
She concluded: “Each time someone joins the Quickspin family, we give them the gift of planting a tree on their behalf – it’s a great way to say thanks for being a Quickspin employee while helping the people who need it the most.”
