Snowborn was definitely going for the ‘more is more’ approach when they created Tippy's Golden Pot. The Base game is fairly simple and has the benefit of a couple of nice modifiers but the Bonus game does feel a little convoluted.
The main setup is self-explanatory with five reels and four rows producing 1024 win ways. Four Royal symbols can fetch you up to 1.2x with 5 Aces producing this amount. Butterflies, Acorns, Four-leaf Clovers and Toadstools produce a maximum of 3x for a group of five of the latter.
While you watch the reels spinning around, you'll see Wild symbols arrive and these can add additional value to the three jackpots. You might also find that the Tippy Spin fires off a load of random Wilds as well.
The three jackpots are increased by 0.5 x each time one of their corresponding coloured gems lands and the maximum available is 10,000x for the Mega jackpot. To win one of these jackpots, you'll need the Jackpot Wheel to randomly trigger as you are watching the coloured gems do their thing. You spin the wheel and one of the jackpots is yours.
The over-egging of the bonus begins by landing three, four or five bonus symbols. Each one offers a respin game where a number of modifiers are available throughout. The best you can hope for is five Bonus symbols and for this, you get to play with four lives that are replenished at certain points.
Entering the game with four Bonus symbols will get you three Stars but entering with five will get you six Stars. Unfortunately, three Bonus symbols do not produce any stars at all. Stars are very useful in that they will award extra spins when three arrive and six of them produce a Persistent Collector symbol.
Hot Spots are also in play during the Bonus and this gives you an increased chance of landing special symbols or extra Stars. The special symbols include Coin symbols with values of up to 50x and these are the most basic of them all.
Diamond symbols can expand the number of reels and hopefully keep you in the game longer. Jug symbols are payers with values of up to 9x your bet while the Barrel is a Persistent Payer of the same value. The Coin Pouches are Collectors, which also have values of up to 9x and a Chest is a Persistent Collector. Tippy represents a Persistent Multiplier of up to 9x and this will be applied to all other cash values.
The special symbols will hopefully increase in value up to the maximum of 250x and at this point, they become Tippy Gold symbols. Chest symbols can also reach their maximum of 2,500x and are converted into Tippy Gold symbols as well. The symbols can be collected by both the Pouch and the Chest symbols to produce some extreme wins.
Wild symbols release coloured gems and these will increase their corresponding jackpot by 0.5x. If the Jackpot Wheel is activated, you’re awarded one of the prizes, which could reach up to 10,000x.
Between three and six Scatters award up to four respins and up to 6 stars. Stars award additional spins and a Persistent Collector symbol, Diamonds expand the rows, Coins offer values up to 50x, Jugs act as Payers, Barrels are Persistent Payers and Tippy is a Persistent Multiplier. All of the above can be turned into Tippy Gold with a value of up to 2,500x.
If you like a quiet life, then I’d be very surprised that you've made it this far into my review of Tippy's Golden Pot! It's not one for beginners, so make sure you have a decent understanding of how basic slots work before you go entering into this tangled web of modifiers.
'Stereotypical' is the best word to describe this game and you'll find every popular Irish reference right here. There are green fields, four-leaf clovers, little leprechauns with ginger beards and pots of gold. The birds are singing and the stream is flowing, just to add a little white noise to the experience.
The Jackpot Wheel opportunity saves the Base game from languishing in mediocrity and could produce the game's biggest payout right there and then. Moving into the Bonus game should help keep your balance looking healthy and if you live in an area outside the UK that allows direct Bonus purchases, then you can pay 40x, 80x or 250x for the different levels.
From what I can gather, it isn't possible to push the winning limits beyond the 10,000x Mega Jackpot, so watching this prize arrive could be the end of your slot session. But who's going to argue with that? The volatility is pretty high and the RTP is 96%. All areas of this game are capable of producing some exciting wins.
It is massively stereotypical and the Bonus game is definitely over the top but there's something about Tippy's Golden Pot that will put a smile on your face and hopefully a bit of a spring in your step as you make your way towards that Mega Jackpot.
