The Runemakers DoubleMax Review
What exactly is a Runemaker? I'm not entirely sure but I believe it was a fantasy novel depicting a sorceress with magical powers. I can’t say that The Runemakers DoubleMax quite lives up to this epic storyline but it's not a bad effort!
Following the supposed theme of mystical powers and mythical beings, the setting seems quite apt as we arrive in an isolated part of a forest with a small stream and a little carving to the side of the reels. Vines outline the grid and a little stardust ascends from below. Suitably magical sound effects accompany your spins and a little unexpected electric guitar music blasts to life with the free spins bonus. If you prefer to take your slots wherever you want to go, then you'll be pleased to know that this game is also available on mobile devices.
The base game and bonus game are very much connected with the latter benefiting from the lack of a DoubleMax reset. You won't find anything else adding to the intrigue during the bonus though and it does feel like one long and continuous journey. This might please you or it could leave you wanting a little variation. That all depends on the player.
10,000x is the otherworldly payout that all players are hoping to achieve, and the bonus game is highly likely to push you closer to your goal with that persistent multiplier. RTP enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the industry average has been met at 96% and you can expect a bit of a bumpy ride from the high volatility.
The Runemakers DoubleMax has the potential to fire out some superb payouts when those multipliers and Wild symbols begin to align. Also, there's enough here to keep you occupied even when your session runs a little dry, so you can expect a moderate amount of entertainment coming along for the ride. It's a decent effort and I might be tempted to head back to this magical wonderland for another spin at a later date.
