Temple of Torment Review
We had no idea that these two famous figures were in such fierce competition with each other! But we are certainly glad they are in the minds of the design team at Hacksaw Gaming. When they start pulling those wilds up and down, it can have a great impact on your balance and it looks pretty cool at the same time. Here's how the rest of this production develops into a cracking game that could just produce some sizeable payouts.
Design
The Temple of Torment design is creative, to say the least. There is a dark and brooding Egyptian sound occasionally interspersed by Ra and Anubis effects as they perform their duties on the reels.
One side of the screen is light and the other is in darkness which gives you a feel for the battle that is going on between the sky and the underworld. Wild Scarabs moving upwards to create stacked wilds will do so with a golden stripe, at the behest of Ra, and in the opposite direction, Anubis will drag them down. You don't quite get the same effect on mobile devices but it is still very watchable—if not a little less epic.
Game Play
All of the action during the base game comes thanks to those Wild symbols and Golden Scarab symbols—without them, it would have been hard to see this game make it in today's competitive market.
The biggest wins will be found during the Anubis and RA free spins. Given that Ra costs twice the amount to enter in the Bonus Buy feature and comes with big multipliers, we imagine this part of the show is where you will need to be to get anywhere close to the max 10,000x payout.
Win Potential
10,000x, medium volatility and 96.2% RTP are very decent stats indeed but bear in mind that these last two figures can vary. The RTP will change depending on where you play and the volatility can move from medium to high at some points if you are using the Bonus Buy feature.
Our Verdict
Temple of Torment is a great idea and pretty original in its approach to pulling stacked wilds up and down the screen while blending nicely into the theme. A lot of thought had gone into this slot by the developer and it should keep many of us happy for some time to come. It’s got big payout potential and fun features—what more do we need?!
