Rubies of Egypt Review
There was always a good chance that rubies were going to be important to a civilisation like the ancient Egyptians. This precious stone used to be carried by soldiers in the hope that the goddess of war would bring luck and power with her to the battlefield.
Unfortunately, there aren't any slot machine deities out there that can help you out on your quest to win that max 5,000x payout, but these features and modifiers should do their best to assist you.
Design
We can't get overly excited about the design of Rubies of Egypt. While the Pharaoh symbols are well-crafted and the wild gems shine brightly, there’s no real attempt to set the scene with background and no animated elements give this game any kind of lifelike feel. The soundtrack could have been borrowed from any other ancient Egyptian-themed slot but on the plus side, you can play this game on mobiles if you wish.
Game Play
The base game has an ace in the hole thanks to the Pharaoh symbols as they can not only pay from left to right but also from right to left as well. This all helps to bring bigger wins and that wild symbol can also do a job. All of the symbols are infinitely more powerful during the bonus game and you will want to reach this point of the production as soon as possible to keep your balance ticking along.
Win Potential
5,000x isn't a massive payout for a high volatility slot but it certainly isn't the worst we have ever seen. It's only possible to reach the big payouts during the free spins bonus and this is made very clear as you start the game. The RTP sits at 96.06% so no one should have any complaints about that.
Our Verdict
It is hard to get overly jubilant about Rubies of Egypt as it doesn't present anything we haven't seen before and none of the gameplay or design aspects carry it through. The top win isn't amazing and the features are fairly average. Having said that, it is a simple setup so no one should have any headaches while playing this game and there is potential to see some regular wins as those Pharaoh symbols begin to pay in both directions.
