Piñata Popper Review
Everything is very much centred around the respins in this grid slot. Without a Piñata symbol, your time here means nothing and you will have to make do with standard symbol clusters or, of course, the Dream Drop jackpot opportunity. So while there may not be a hell of a lot going on in Piñata Popper, there is still a chance that you can earn some devastating payouts all the same.
Design
The story unfolds as we look out across the rooftops of Mexico City with the reels outlined in a fiery glaze. It's a fairly standard cluster pays slot with stereotypical symbols making up the winning combos. These are chilli peppers, sombreros, tacos and more. The Piñata symbols are Day of the Dead skulls and hopefully, you will see these more often than not.
The base game is a fairly sombre affair but that all changes as the Bonus symbols land and you go off to the main feature where the party really gets started. Strangely, this all takes place in a town called Chichén Itza somewhere out near Cancún.
Game Play
The lack of modifiers and any definition between the bonus features does, unfortunately, make this slot feel like a bit of a slog without any variation along the way. It's like going on a long journey and watching the same trees pass by for miles at a time. However, what this game lacks in imagination it certainly makes up for with potential firepower thanks to the Dream Drop bonus. We can't imagine why anyone would play the version that does not include this jackpot feature.
Win Potential
Beyond the huge Dream Drop jackpots, there's a chance to land a 10,000x payout if everything goes your way during the regular part of the game. The RTP is 94% and this is naturally suffering a little to make up for the jackpot contribution. The volatility is very high and the hit frequency is 20.09%.
Our Verdict
There are many Dream Drop games out there to choose from, and while this may not be our first choice, it could well be yours if you are a lover of stereotypical Mexican imagery and fun sound effects. The respins bonus can create some decent wins in its own right, and even if you don't make it to the jackpot game, you could still have a potentially rewarding time with Piñata Popper Dream Drop.
