Fishin' Frenzy Megaways Review
We’ll be honest, what you see is what you get with Fishin’ Frenzy. This Megaways reboot is a simple, easy to follow 5-reel slot that’s just a slightly more impressive version of the popular 2014 original by Australian developers Reel Time Gaming.
We’re hesitant to come straight out and call this slot boring because that’s not the case! Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways is a straight-forward online slot that’s reminiscent of classic slot games. So If you’re a fan of highly volatile retro-style games then this game is an absolute dream come true.
Design
Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways is quite the upgrade from the original, however, that’s not to say it’s not still pretty basic. The reels are set under the sea surrounded by coral reefs and the symbols themselves are all somehow related to the sea.
Low paying slots are your standard 10, J, Q, K, A (however each symbol has a fishes tail somehow incorporated into the typeface) and higher-paying symbols are a fishing tackle box, rubber ring, fishing rod and a hungry seagull (Landing 6 of these in a row pays 50x, 50x, 100x, and 200x your initial stake respectively). The scatter symbol is a fishing boat out at sea.
Unusually, rather than incorporate some new audio that would fit the game perfectly, like the sound of waves crashing against a boat, or seagulls squawking, the developers have instead decided to keep the original old-school slot machine jingle when the reels are spun. This could be a good thing, depending on the way you look at it, but it doesn’t do it for us.
Gameplay
Megaways slots can often be a little bit difficult to understand at first, however, you’ll find none of that confusing when it comes to Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways.
This is one of the easiest Megaways slots going. Players can make their bet adjustments on the far left of the reels, and spin the reels using the play button on the far right. A bar above the reels will signify how many Megaways are currently in play on each and every spin.
Win Potential
Fishin’ Frenzy Megawyas is a medium volatility slot with an average RTP of 96.10%. The maximum payout in this game is 10,000x your initial stake which we’re most certainly happy with. All in all, we’d recommend this game regardless of your bankroll, it’s a good middle of the road online slot game that works for everyone.
Our Verdict
On one hand, Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways is dated and has certainly seen better days, on the other hand, it’s pretty generous and can offer big payouts if you’re lucky. If you’re a fan of the original game then you’ll absolutely love this as it’s essentially a beefed-up version of that.
